I guess Im understanding Cam positioning of not taking quinn from this one quote. He said " you cant teach a unaccurate Qb to be accurate, you can only teach a accurate qb to be more accurate." He said he has tried to teach unaccurate QB be accurate but you cant. The knock on Quinn is that he not accurate so they never had him on their list. On the flip side John Beck is accurate. Im not a coach but to me that does make alot sense. Im starting to feel a little bit more comfortable about this pick but I still feel we didnt get full value at #9. It was more of a safe pick that can really change the game which is true.

After watching all the terrible QB's that have come through Miami since Marino left there is one thing most of them have had in common. Most of them either made bad decisions or were inaccurate or both. The knocks on Brady Quinn were accuracy and decision making. These same areas were Beck's strengths. I am happy with this decision. I watched Beck play a few games last season against decent competition and the guy really impressed me.

I like this draft, we will be really happy with this draft in the future as long as all these guys sign and get in on time.

Glad you're feeling better about it, Amars. Got to admit I was shocked when Ginn was picked over Quinn, but I, too, have come to terms with it and I feel good about todays picks now... :D

That sounds like one of those quotes destined to come back and bite you in the arse.
Kinda like the quote from another Dolphins coach:
"you don't throw with your knees"

no but we do seem to have a few people on their knees in front of cam and all his glory. pretty similar to who you were alluding too until he decided he didn't coach for Alabama for the 2 weeks that he said it.

Only time will tell. But im viewing this as more of a safe pick but not a franchise changing pick. That why I was high on Quinn because I believe he could be a franchise QB. Im just so tired of all mediocre QB after so many years of being spoiled with Marino greatness. I just really want a Qb that the team can rely on when the game on the line. As of today Im still waiting even with this Beck pick.

not taking quinn is no biggie but passing on edwards for a qb that is gonna be 26 when the season starts..r u kidding me..beck is no franchise qb..i bet lemon beats him out and beck is # 3 on the depth chart come sept...beck wil make no impact on this team what so ever...

Wasnt that quote pertaining to Russell, when he through the ball 60 yards on his knee?

Just watch Beck

For those who doubt Beck's ability, just go to youtube and search BYU football. I'd take Beck over Quinn any day. Quinn's popularity is spelled: "Notre Dame PR"
Here's some vids for starters:
BYU v Utah

This game is against TCU earlier in the season. He played on two sprained ankles. That's where some of his critics have gotten the ammunition for saying he has limited mobility. Notice how he looks off defenders.

Here's John ripping apart the then #4 defense in the country: Wyoming. BYU wins 55-7. Ouch.

Ah, and finally the Vegas Bowl. BYU 38 to Oregon 8.
