disclaimer: This is just something to ponder.

I'm surprised this didn't dawn on me until now. I recal all the whining and carrying on when Cameron was hired about his HC experience. It seems to me TS has had as much but at a far lower level of competition.

If nothing else, Cam did was part of acquiring the phins starting Center and possibly Marino's long awaited heir.

And won a single game. Yes, one measly game. Uno. Un. Singular.

Get the picture?

There are a few glaring differences... the intangibles.

Cam, you could tell, was way in over his head. He lacked confidence, and esp the veterans could detect this, and lost this team throughout the season.

TS is a tough, old school guy - an o-lines coach, not a gimmicky OC.
On top of that, TS was the assistant HC, so that definitely helps.

Also, TS is learning under the shadow of proven excellence, its a real benefit to him, whereas Cam didn't have that luxury, he had to feel his way out, and cook with the questionable groceries that Mueller provided.. In my honest opinion, Cam just wasn't ready, I NEVER FELT that there was a theme, an overarching plan... their draft kinda felt "up in the air." They didn't build a strong foundation, instead they went after a WR with their first pick... WRs are useless with a crappy O Line.

TS, and crew, its quite evident they have a plan, it was so easy to see it in the draft, and its the first draft in a long time that I felt "hell, that made sense. Good." The players seem receptive, and the aura feels much more different than the whole LA. Fitness, soft aura that Cam held.

Dont forget Tony was a 'running game coordinator' under Bill. Also the assistant head coach. Point being, he was more than just an offensive line coach.

well with Parcells ultimately overseeing everything, and mentoring Sparano along the way,i have alot better feeling about this Dolphins team that's being rebuilt than i ever did with Cam as the HC. Cams record at Indiana just didn't sit right with me,now i know Indiana is a basketball school, but the football coach who took over after Cam took them to 5 straight bowl games. i just didn't really care for him as the Dolphins HC.

There is no good part to Cam coming to Miami. Yes he might have lucked up and added a good center but as far as heir to marino thats along ways away from even thinking. Its just as likely he wasted our first two picks as that. The best thing about Cam is he is the hell out of Miami. Any team that gives him a head coaching job in the future should get thier head checked out. Useless as a head coach.

Cam is an offensive coordinator and nothing else. Sparano at least jumps into jockstraps and is straightforward. Somehow I doubt Tonys players will be playing playstation before practice and starting infighting on team airplane rides.

Already the players are getting bulked up in the weightroom and getting in shape. Cam's training camp was a joke and you could tell from media reports about how boring everything was. Those who were there could tell it best. Cam was lame pure and simple. Not to mention he messed with our best playmaker in Ronnie Brown early on for no good reason. He did not get "his" QB prepared in Beck. He was lame pure and simple. Sparano will not be any such individual especially with his mentor looking over his shoulders. And his coaches are all put together by Parcells/Sparano/Ireland so you wont have this mishmash anymore. Our OL is built from the inside out, isnt that what Cam said a team should be built with? Well, BP/JI/TS rebuilt this OL in one day practically and got us another QB to lead this team. The defense will be the next thing. But make no mistake, this new regime will not put up with lame excuses, output, or lacksadasical crap!

Cameron was hired because Wayne H. panicked and got the perceived best available before the offseason developed.

Sparano was targeted by our new front office (whether you like em or not) that knows what to look for in coaching and talent. We weren't grabbing the first candidate available, we targeted the guy we knew we wanted.

You will be pleasantly surprised at the difference shortly into the season.

Cam Cameron SUCKED as head coach...completely inept and didn't have a clue how to run a team or earn the respect of his players.

sporano is parcells son-in-law; that is enough to qualify him as hc for the dolphins,
