"I think Cam is really motivated," Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said. "I don't think he's a guy that ever rests that way. No shortcuts for Cam. He plays with a chip on his shoulder."

Sparano and his defensive coaches have cautioned Wake to be ready for extra on-field attention this year. The respect opponents started to show in the second half last year — sliding protections his way, chipping with tight ends and running backs — should only increase, starting with the Patriots in a little over two weeks.

That's fine with Wake. He's ready for the challenge.

"I always say, the tackle I'm facing, he's at home right now studying me," Wake said. "If I'm watching whatever sitcom on TV while he's studying plays, when that third-and-long comes or that play needs to be made, he knows something about me that I don't know about him."

Wake can't — won't — let that happen.

"You always want to outwork your opponent," he said. "When they're sleeping, I'm working. It will all show on game day."

Cam is one of those few guys that has been in a position on the outside looking in when it comes to this league. The article helps show how committed he is to staying in this league and continuing to play at such a high level. He is truly a beast in every aspect. The rest of the article is def worth the read. heres the link .

The more i hear the less worried I am about his production dropping off regardless of the extra attention he gets this season. I was worried he wouldnt understand he would need to adjust but it seems he has studied the looks he got at the last three sackless games pretty hard. He will def be ready.

HERES to YOUR 2011 NFL Sack CHAMPION!!!!

At least this is one player we can all agree played great last year...and I don't see him letting up this year. He may get more attention this year though, but that will just allow others to get into the plays.

No doubt hopefully JT and Misi can contribute with those opportunities.

one of the best articles i've read this year. hopefully he knocks Brady on his *** their first possession.

Cool thing to note:

Cam Wake used to not even own a TV, so he wasn't the one watching sitcoms. I bet that hasn't changed, and he is going to be downright scary. You can say all you want about complete OLBs out there that are better -- but nobody, I repeat, NOBODY, gets around the edge like #91.

This dude has an awesome mentality. A great mentality to follow even if what you're working for isn't a sport.

There is a reason Jason Taylor said the pass rushing on D wouldn't drop off when Wake took his spot and he went to the Jets. If Miami's all time greatest pass rusher saw something special in Wake then I believe the man.

He and D.Bess easily two of the greatest moves this FO has every made in free agency

Teams are going to factor him in more this season, but hopefully with his rep and his status, refs will keep a better eye on the plethora of holding calls they missed on Wake last year.

If Wake's #s slip a bit, Misi's will be up by nearly double. This is the great thing about having great players on your team, it allows others who arent as good to play better since there will be sooo much attention on the great player (Wake). I am looking forward to see how great our D plays, and how our pass rush looks. Nolan is a def genius and he will bring blitzes from everywhere! Dansby and Burnett will have theyre own blitz packages and they both have a history of being great blitzers. I am also looking forward to our CBs Davis and Smith picking off Brady at least once each game 1. haha GO PHINS!!
