This is from 2016, but it's indicative of how Wake rolls whenever he's on the field. He did it again last year with another double digit sack year.

He remains the best pure pass rusher in the league. If they ever started calling the holding penalties he would be virtually impossible to stop.

There is no sign of aging in him yet.

If they cut him, it is the Cardinal sin. There would be no forgiveness.

If they cut him it’s dumb. We lose a draft pick to merely replace him is one way to look at it if that happens. If they keep him then our pass rush becomes more formidable. Release him and at best it’s a wash for this year and we lost a draft pick. Knowing T Dumb we will cut him.

That contextual analysis suggests he’s pretty damn incredible. Still.

Cutting Wake would send a terrible message. The guy has been with the phins for a long time and continues to be productive. Not too many in the future would be willing to entertain a home town discount, in my opinion. He does not deserve to go out that way.

I wouldn’t cut him. What are we going to do when Quinn gets injured ? He has an injury history and from what I understand back issues. Why wouldn’t any other team give up more than a 4 th?
