If the Dolphins season goes down the drain, and Cam Ward is available at our spot during the draft, should the FO seriously consider selecting him as a backup to Tua? Curious.

I think Ward will have to adjust a bit at the NFL level because he hasn’t played in traditional offenses. He will need to speed up his internal clock as well because he takes sacks from holding the ball too long.

Realistically speaking, he is probably the #2 QB in the class for me (above Sanders). If you look at the past few years, we would need to win 3-4 games to have a shot at drafting him. If that is how things turn out he should definitely be on our radar.

Ewers or Ward is fine with me. We have to draft a QB early.

Even if Tua doesn't retire and keeps playing. We do have an out after the 2025 season. He has no more guaranteed money on his contract after 2025.

Let Ewers or Ward sit behind Tua in 2025 then take over in 2026.

I'm pumping the brakes on Ewers. He gets injured every year.

I'm not going down that road again.

Check out Jaxson Dart as well though, the kid is a warrior.

We probably won't be drafting high enough for Ewers or Ward anyway so Dart could be a more realistic possibility.

Marine-O is on point. We have no choice but to pick high for a QB. Tua's future with the Dolphins, or any team in the league for that matter, is uncertain due to his injury history. We must be thinking of the seasons after Tua. Sad but true.

Of course, like I started in my initial post on this thread, if we go down the drain this season...then we'll land a high selection in the draft.

Unless McD turns around his coaching decisions ASAP we won’t be winning too many games. If by the time Tua returns we haven’t won more than one game I truly feel it will be too late to get this team back to where it needs to be. So….regarding the question: yes, we must draft a top QB this year, absolutely!

Yes, this absolutely true! Right on PHINSfan!
