PFF had this above list of defensive ends/pass rushers who earned a triple-double— double digit sacks, pressures and hits.

I decided to dig a little deeper and look at the snap counts on this list.

Only two players on this triple-double list did so in under 650 snaps on the season. And only 3 did so with under 700 snaps.

1. Cameron Wake
2. Carl Lawson
3. Clay Matthews

Below is the list of players who made the list and below that is the snap counts list I compiled on these players.

Calais Campbell, Jacksonville Jaguars: 17 sacks, 14 hits, 42 hurries

Chandler Jones, Arizona Cardinals: 17 sacks, 18 hits, 41 hurries

Demarcus Lawrence, Dallas Cowboys: 15 sacks, 12 hits, 52 hurries

Cameron Jordan, New Orleans Saints: 14 sacks, 14 hits, 47 hurries

Joey Bosa, Los Angeles Chargers: 13 sacks, 11 hits, 51 hurries

Yannick Ngakoue, Jacksonville Jaguars: 13 sacks, 14 hits, 43 hurries

Everson Griffen, Minnesota Vikings: 12 sacks, 11 hits, 38 hurries

Cameron Wake, Miami Dolphins: 11 sacks, 15 hits, 36 hurries

Khalil Mack, Oakland Raiders: 11 sacks, 13 hits, 55 hurries

Melvin Ingram, Los Angeles Chargers: 11 sacks, 12 hits, 53 hurries

Michael Bennett, Philadelphia Eagles (w/ Seattle Seahawks in 2017): 10 sacks, 16 hits, 44 hurries

Clay Matthews, Green Bay Packers: 10 sacks, 11 hits, 18 hurries

Carl Lawson, Cincinnati Bengals: 10 sacks, 11 hits, 38 hurries

Von Miller, Denver Broncos: 10 sacks, 12 hits, 61 hurries

............

It's been quite obvious to me that Wake is still playing at an elite level as a pass rusher.... And also playing on a very reasonable contract, if not flat out underpaid... If you just go by sacks alone in the last 4 seasons, Wake is 7th in sacks despite spotting 9 games to 3 guys above him and 7 to another one...

If you go by the last 3 years, he's tied at 8th, spotting 9 games to everyone(4) he's tied with...

last 2 years he's 6th...

He aint slowing down...

It's been obvious to me anyone who thought we should just walk away from Wake didn't understand that even though he his aging he holds more value than a discarded player.

Wake deserves to retire a Dolphin.

Hope he does retire but this is a business keep in mind.

Very impressive...I wonder if the stats are somewhat skewed though based on situations....if the top guys at snap count are playing a lot of rushing downs then the QB pressure becomes a moot point...if Wake played mostly passing downs the odds of QB pressure go up...just curious

Glad Wake is our guy...definitely a consummate team player and elite DE

I'm sure someone out there has the time to do this, would be nice to be paid just to accumulate stats. but you got to think how much do you really want to take into effect which is why snap count is easiest. how many of those snaps did said individual drop back into coverage, I'm sure there is someone out in the world who has a stat somewhere with each of these individuals over 10 snaps, what they did on passing downs when they were engaged in advancing to the qb.

I really just hope to see Quinn regain his old form or Harris take a step forward, would be nice to see Ingram/Bosa type numbers. the qb's wont be as intimidated to step up in the pocket with Suh gone (not that im crying or having a fit) but will be nice if they cant roll away from wake and feel safe
