If we had more players with his work ethic and commitment to the team, maybe we would have won a SB in the last 10yrs rather than wallowing in mediocrity.

Though he has had a tremendous career for the Miami Dolphins, defensive end Cameron Wake is reaching the point where he must be handled with care. At 35 years old, Wake is one of only four players in the past 15 years to record double-digit sacks past age 35 (Joining John Abraham, Terrell Suggs, and Julius Peppers), but the top player on the Dolphins defense is open to playing in a reduced capacity if the Dolphins opt to try and preserve him.
"I don’t have this ‘Everybody look at me. I must be the starter.’ That’s not my mentality. I want to do whatever is going to help the entirety of the team, the entirety of the defense. So, if it means me being a third-down guy, let’s do it. If it means I have to start and play every down, I’ll take that role on, too."

Ring of honor he deserves
Borderline IMO, but I wouldn't have a problem with it. How many sacks to catch JT?

He has been a great player, and person for the Dolphins. Always had the physical tools, but just as important, he has huge heart. I don't know how vocal of a leader he is, but he certainly leads by example.

I can't think of one single negative thing he's ever been associated with.

Barring injury and overuse, he could continue to play at a high level for 2 more years. He should be kept fresh for the end of the 2nd and 4th quarters. Imagine a fresh Wake coming in to pressure a passer trying to preserve a lead.

Depending on how he finishes out his career he has a chance at the NFL hall of fame, and you're saying he is borderline for a team ring of honor......

If he makes the HOF, and that's a huge if, it would change things in my assessment.

You seem defensive. I love Wake as both a player, and a role model.

I stand by my original statement.

As he should. He gets gassed much quicker when he has to play elevated snaps. Plus he still is a liability in the run game.

Need him fresh and focusing on the pass rush.

Also when you are making 9.625 million in 2018 . . . it is hard to just put a player in a "lesser snap count role" . . . but in this case it makes all the sense. Not many people should be considered for such a role, but Cam is certainly one of them.

Damn I love this guy. Such a team player, hope he can retire here.

So who takes on most of his snaps? Hayes? Quinn? I thought that Harris, Branch, and Quinn all played on the other side? which would leave Hayes as the most likely guy? No spring chicken either even though he did player very well.
