Dealing with the South Florida heat in August is enough of a challenge for just about anybody being asked to run, catch and hit while in full pads for two hours twice a day. Throw in an intense workout in the weight room early in the morning consisting of squats, bench presses and other free weight exercises and you're thinking very hard about how that bed is going to feel in the evening.
Now that the team is exactly midway through the 2009 training camp, it's a little easier to identify those players that survived the first Sparano camp as they don't seem to be wilting in the sun this time around. Of the 78 players currently practicing (outside linebacker Matt Roth is on the Non-Football Injury list), there are 43 that knew precisely what to expect when camp opened and those 43 were able to prepare the other 35, in addition to helping them through the offseason conditioning program.
