INJURY UPDATE
WR James McKnight (burner), G Jamie Nails (cramps) and DE Jay Williams (cramps) left practice early. LB Devin Lemons (calf) and DE Adewale Ogunleye (knee) did not participate in the afternoon session. DE David Bowens remains on the Active/NFI list
Head Coach Dave Wannstedt (on QB Jay Fielder): “He’s healthy and obviously more knowledgeable of the offense. I think that he’s confident and the guys around him respond. With Ricky, we know we’re going to run the ball. I think that it’s encouraging to Jay to see Derrius Thompson, McKnight and Chambers making plays in the passing game.â€Â
Head Coach Dave Wannstedt (on highlights of the practice): “I say this every year, but Zach Thomas looks quicker than he has been. I don’t know if that’s because it’s the beginning of trainin camp, but he’s off to a great start.â€Â
