•Monday was the final training camp practice for the Dolphins, which basically means veterans can go home instead of staying in a hotel, and fans can't watch practice any longer. Rookies will likely stay in the hotel because they haven't rented apartments locally. The Dolphins are off Tuesday and practice against the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday and Thursday at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., in advance of the teams' preseason game Saturday in Charlotte.
•Tannehill had another strong showing, and it's apparent that he's more confident throwing into tight windows, especially in the red zone.
•WR
DeVante Parker (foot) did some light jogging around the field. It's the most work he's done in front of reporters all training camp.
•DE
Terrence Fede had two sacks Monday, continuing his impressive camp. He's one of the most improved players from last season.
•LT
Branden Albert (knee) had a handful of snaps with the second team at half speed Monday, an encouraging sign as he tries to ready himself for the Sept. 13 opener at Washington.
Dolphins receiver Kenny Stills is happy to be back on the field during Day 14 of Dolphins training camp in Davie.
Who's Up
LG
Dallas Thomas. He took the vast majority of the snaps with the starters Monday, possibly the highest percentage of snaps he's taken with the first team during training camp. He seems to have tightened his hold on the job since the preseason opener.
Who's Down
CB
Brice McCain. Tannehill repeatedly went to WR
Greg Jennings in an 11-on-11 drill late in practice. And they did all their damage against McCain, the usual right cornerback and nickel, who was playing left cornerback in place of
Brent Grimes. It's probably no big deal in the big picture, but McCain didn't have a good segment of practice.
Roster moves
The Dolphins waived tight end
Arthur Lynch, the 2014 fifth-round draft pick from Georgia, and signed free agent linebacker
James Davidson. Lynch, who spent his rookie season on injured reserve with a back injury, entered training camp behind starters
Jordan Cameron and
Dion Sims and then fell behind reserves
Gerell Robinson and
Jake Stoneburner.
Injury update
Linebackers
Koa Misi (calf) and
Jordy Tripp (ankle) didn't participate Monday.
