Now 2-2 and getting handled by two division rivals back to back may have doomed Coach Campbell.

It's not entirely fair to judge him considered he inherited a poor team and has started on a brutal road schedule. But he's not showing anything special. And his time management has been brutal. Ra ra ra leadership only gets you so far on the professional level. It also takes an intellectual advantage and smart game planning.

Campbell has to divert to Lazor and that may be his downfall. On a level playing field maybe he is a good coach. But Tannenbaum will start the coaching search and anything short of a miraculous 7-1 run has Campbell all out of tricks.

I disagree. He cannot go out there and make the tackles.
I want him back with different coordinators. This team needs defensive players desperately.
All these losses are on Tannenbaum and Philbin.
We still have a shot if we can get it back on track, although I see no reason for optimism.

Tough situation he was placed in. I think if we were smart and showed foresight, we'd give Campbell time to develop as a HC. He shows a great deal of potential as a leader and could grow into the HC role. The coaching staff Philbin built around him is such absolute crap. Let him build a staff. With strong coordinators he'll be the best option moving forward.

I agree 100%.

He is 100% gone. He sealed his fate with that debacle at the end of the first half and the 2nd half just confirmed it.

He's not a HC right now but we have the rest of the season to see if he grows. First task should be to reign in Lazor and get this offense balanced.

His coordinators didn't mismanage the clock at the end of the half. And while Lazor made the play call to end the half, that crucial a play had to go through him and he didn't change it to something more sensible. He is not head coach material. Not yet at least. The franchise can't afford another let's find out if someone can grow into the job experiment. We need an established coach that can stabilize the franchise.

It's evident that Campbell did not take over this team. He's just filling the role. If the phins wanted hope at a playoff berth, Campbell would have had to take complete control. He hasn't, and to me seems way softer than a young Cowher. He's nowhere near a Cowher.

You cant just implore your players while simultaneously coddling your ****ty coaching staff. Everyone has to nut up. If they don't, the team will lose. That's the HC's main job and Campbell hasn't done it from what I can see; with 10 days to prepare no less.

Piss poor clock mgmt never bodes well for a perspective head coaching position. Let me rephrase that, for anybody but the Fins it doesn't bode well.

Lets see if he learns from this. Still a long way to go and Dan Campbell has 8 more games to make an impact.

What's funny to me is people actually thought he had a shot at the HC position.

He was always just keeping the seat warm

You don't know our owner.

Campbell will be a TE coach again somewhere else next year. It is what he is good at. He was thrown into a spot that he wasn't ready for. I am sure that he did his best but he made too many mistakes so far. He will learn from them I am sure and may become a head coach at some point but he's not ready now.
