Campbell-Quinn similarities?

intelligence, relentlessness and doggedness.

Those admitable traits/qualities in anyone or group which I try to be on a daily basis especially at work where the bureaucracy, the idiotic processes of others, & the whiney halfass approach of your typical American worker really make my head hurt.

I like the comparison, but a pretty huge advantage Quinn has is that he's had MAJOR success in critical coaching positions. Campbell doesn't have that pedigree. We should have just hired Quinn. I love Campbell, but without the coaching background he's definitely more of a wildcard.

I think people are really stretching the comparism esp since Quinn has spent years learning his craft

I have no idea how Campbell will do. However, I am struck on how he knows exactly what this team needs and has a plan in trying to solve the problems. I am really taken aback at how direct and ready he seems for this even though he has little coaching experience.

I have never personally wanted to see a Dolphins coach succeed. Part of it is the rough spot he is in, but also Campbell has his heart and soul into this. I know all Fins coaches from the past lived the job…it just seems Campbell's is at another level.

he seems to have the "it" factor. Let's hope so and that it translates to wins on the field . Rooting hard for his success.

It also should be stated, again, that this is on the players now. The old coach is out. A young, energetic players' coach is the interim. Time for the players to play with some zest and make plays. If they stink the rest of the year it is on the players. Sure, Campbell will not get the job in that case, but we will have a lot of questions about the roster and I would advocate to blow it up outside of the contracts that can't be trimmed this year.

No need to blow anything up. A smart coach keeps the good players and cuts dead weight. This idea that coaches need to blow up a whole team to succeed are beyond silly. How much blowing up has Dan Quinn did in Atlanta?

I think that he should blow up Coyle's defense along with Philbin and Lazor's offense. That should be a step in the right direction! There are some good players on the team, but the old coaching staff had no clue how to use them or get the most out of them.

Oh blow up the stadd most definately. Hopefully our new coach knows how to build a staff when we hire him. I hope Dan Campbell sticks around but that usually doesnt happen.
He has little to gain if he doesnt get the head coaching by going elsewhere though unless he realy impresses. This will be his chance to prove he is ready to be head coach. Personally not a fan of promoting coaches with such limited experience, Im old school.
I like coaches to actually earn head coaching gigs. Im glad we went with Dan since none of the the coordinators were getting any results. Who knows he may suprise but I think he needs more seasoning and a wider knowledge base

This team does have talent...the biggest issue is the lack of Talent in critical areas (O-line, LB, DB)...if they can address those areas then they should and could be on there way to building a winning team. I agree that we should not "blow it up"...find you core...keep you better then average role players and fix your weaknesses without creating new ones.

This makes no sense. You are a Dolphins fan but you never want to see the coach succeed? This means you want the team to always fail. To never make the playoffs. To never win a Super Bowl. For a coach to succeed he would then need to have the team succeed as their success goes hand in hand. If he succeeds, the team suceeds. If the team succeeds, he succeeds.

So why would you not ever want to see the head coach succeed? I get you might not like a person but it still doesn't mean you don't want them to succeed. I never liked Wanny but damn if I didn't want him to succeed. I never liked Cameron, same thing. Sparano, same. You don't have to like the guy for them to succeed and give us all what we want...Super Bowl glory.

Well, this means that with Quinn, you already know what you have, a very good Coach, but just as Campbell might never reach the type of quality coach Quinn is, he also might exceed expectation, and be better then Quinn....we just don't know, and I guess we just need to wait and see.
