A left field thought... but here goes.

KC is 'way' under the cap... Miami... we have movement, but can we compete financially with KC? [not sure what Denver's cap situation is].

So, would Mr. Ross be thinking.. hey... Could P. Manning be the next Elway in as far as GM'ship.. etc. or whatever role he has. So, give PM a stake in the club [as part of a player contract ... oh... taking us back to the Pudge Hefilfinger days] with a view to come on board as an 'official of the club'...as and when he retires?

Is this an 'economical' way around the cap? Is it legal under the new CBA?

Not only is this a business, but it's a political one.. so who knows!
 
no, that's not allowable, because it circumvents the salary cap.
