What were the stats?

I was discussing the state of Middle Linebackers with an old friend, and we agreed that the real measure of greatness had to be the ability to change a game on will alone. So of course, we tried to come up with examples and found ourselves stumped.

We were both hoping to find a site that told a story of Zach getting 2 sacks, making 15 tackles, blocking a kick and returning a pick for points, all in the same crazy game, but instead found zilch.

What was his best game?

I remember him laying it on the Bus one year.

last season he had 17 in one game

The comeback game after he was out for 2 games. I believe that was San Diego. He had an awesome game 10 tackles and an INT. Great stuff.

BTW your sig rocks!:cooldude:

Was it the game he did his frontflip into the endzone after the Int?

2005 week 3 vs. carolina- 17 total, 9 solo, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 pass deflected

2005 week 6 vs. tampa- 14 total, 10 solo, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble

2004 week 16 vs. browns- 18 total, 9 solo

2003 week 9 vs. colts- 19 total, 12 solo, 1 pick for 19 yds. 2 pass deflected

2001 week 1 vs. titans- 9 total, 4 solo, 1 pick for 34 yds and 1 td. 2 pass def

thats the best i could find buddy. it wouldnt let me see stats before 2000
and those are his best games since 2000

Last year he had a great game against the Broncos. Here are a couple of quotes from the game summary, "Zach Thomas stopped Tatum Bell 3 times for no gain and even after Jason Taylor jumped offsides on one of the plays, the Dolphins still kept Denver out of the endzone."

"On defense, Zach Thomas put on another classic performance, racking up a combined 14 tackles, including 3 stops of Tatum Bell at the Miami 3 yard line during the goal line stand in the 2nd quarter. Zach was at his best."

How about the Jet's game last year with the torn labrum. I don't think I've ever seen Zach hit harder...remember that shot on Houston? That was a great hit.

too many to single out...but i remember the game winning int against tenn. a couple years ago...where he picked it, and dove into the endzone...that was a big time play man...

A couple years ago when Zach was playing with a painful neck injury against Atlanta and was a one man goal line stand preserving the win at the end of the game. With all due respect to Nick and AJ, Zach is the best MLB in Miami history.

That was a Sunday night win over Tennessee, two days before 9/11.
One of the best games I ever saw him play was his first game as a rookie in `96, when we beat NE. I don`t have the stats, but the guy was everywhere...my wife started calling him "Pinball" watching that game, she still does. It was JJ`s first game too, and boy, I thought we were on our way (and not on our way to 8-8 either).

his rookie season against the Cardinals, the announcer just make a wise crack about how small Zach was and then he knocks two guys out cold on two consecutive plays and the announcer chocking on crow says "he hits big".

It was the first time we played Atlanta when they had Vick.It was 4th qrt we were up by 5 or so.Atl was on the goaline Miami held them off.Zach had 2 goaline stands and I think 17 tackles that game. They won of course.
