At the end of the last game, I was screaming at the tv not to go for the FG
The Dolphins ALWAYS miss the crucial critical game winning FG. I can't remember the last time we actually made one of those. Especially from > 50 yards. That was Saban's call and he should maybe check out how many games Mare has won for us at the end. The # is probably close to the amount of 4th quarter comebacks in DC's resume'.

A 50+ field goal in the Meadowlands is an extremely tough kick to make so Mare had the deck stacked against him from the start. Can't say that I am upset though.

The past couple of years I might agree with you but Mare has kicked a few game winning FGs with the most memorable being that great Monday Night game against Denver.

Just think how tough this kick was......it was even short. How many times has Mare came up short? Not very many. The only thing I'am upset about is that fact we we're in that part of the field with a lot of time still left on the clock.

For some odd reason, I expected Mare to miss, and he came through like a champ. It's ridiculous to be kicking a 50 yd field goal at the Meadowlands. Why not move the ball more and use your last timeout. Horrible clock management, but still Mare needs to make that kick.

Last one I remember was Denver a couple years ago when fiedler led us back with a broke finger and Chambers got hurt. One of the best games ever.

i was screaming to run a running play...:tantrum:

then i cried.. :boohoo:
I really wanted them to run also but then i thought we couldn't run for that 1/2 yard on 4th down we couldn't run for the 2 yards that we needed on that 3rd down. So i understand Saban going with the field goal on 4th down because if we ran it and didn't make it then game over. So at least we had a shot at a tie with a 51 yard field goal. But Mare missed and game over.....

I told my girlfriend when they got the ball back, I dont know why I'm jumping around all excited and stuff. I know all they are going to do is drive the ball down the field and either have a turnover or miss the field goal. But I kept jumping and screaming as we moved down the field until I saw Mare trot out onto the field and I just put my head in a pillow and cried as I heard Missed Just left. That SOB. That is what he gets paid for to make those kicks, I dont care if he's kicking them off dirt, sand, mud, it doesn't matter he's supposed to make those kicks.

Oh come on... If Saban had gone for it on 4th down and failed, this place would be crying for his head (more so then it is allready).

People would be bringing up the 52 yarder in Houston and claiming we were well within Olindo's range..

Saban made a descition, and with the previously failed 4th down, I for one think he made the right call..

I understand going for the FG on 4th down, i wasnt questioning that play it was the 3rd and 2 PASS play. Run the ball maybe get the first then try maybe a Pass play since we had 1 timeout left.

If Joey wouldn't have overthrown Hagan by a mile it would have been PI. Or if he would have saw Welker WIDE OPEN, it would have been a first down. Don't blame playcalling, blame execution.
