I've been seeing more & more mocks with Brian Brohm falling to the second round. What are your opinions on this? Does that mean only Matt Ryan goes in the first?

yeah thats what i also heard. The bears also stated that they will not draft a qb in the first round.

Thats great. Maybe we can trade the number 32 pick for a 1st next year and a later pick this year if one of the QB's drop there.

I dont even think Matt Ryan is all that great he still throws way too many INT's I still Like Brohm more than Matt Ryan and Andre Woodson. But Joe Flacco QB from Deleware has the better arm than all 3 of those guys

"Stated". I call shenanigans on that. I've heard that they really like Matt Ryan. The main sports writer here in Louisville (a well respected writer nationally) is a big Bears fan and on his radio show he said his friends in the Chicago media said that the Bears really, really like Ryan. Does that mean they would draft him, of course not. But if he's there when the pick...

Any mock draft right now, and I don't care who its by, is just a stab in the dark. You can't be sure of anything until after the combine and individual workouts and even then you never know how a team feels until draft day.

If Brohm was there at # 32 I think we would have to be tempted to take him. I know his senior year was not as good as his junior year, but Louisville as a whole seemed to struggle last year, but no due to Brohm.

I would be really surprised if Brohm falls that far. He'll be great value in the 2nd if he does

As a Louisville alumni and diehard fan, I can tell you Brohm was NOT the reason U of L was down this year. The defense was horribly coached and lacked talent. Porous isn't even the word for what they were. The offensive line suffered injuries last year, losing 2 starters. Brohm still had the stats he did. Any person that says Brohm's senior season was "disappointing" probably did not watch any U of L games and think just because their record was 6 - 6, it was automatically Brohm's fault. Believe me he was outstanding all year long.

If Brohm falls to our #32 spot we have to take him (unless something was really really wrong). But I find that unlikely.

Which means they absolutely will draft a QB.

But if Brohm falls to 32, that might actually be an interesting scenario. I've been ripping people up for suggesting we take a QB on day one, but IMO, Brohm is the best QB in the draft. Ugh, there are going to be so many good players at 32, I can't make up my mind!

:wacky:

You ain't kiddin' brother. With that many good players available at #32, it makes it a prime pick to trade to someone for a 1st rounder next year as well.

Exactly. Urrutia's "hands of stone" didn't help much either.

No kidding. All these time we've been talking about trade down partners for the #1 pick; well, if you watched the draft last year, there was a trading frenzy in the back end of round 1.

So you're a Brian Brohm fan? I love Brohm. He had a shaky season but I think his interceptions and erratic forced throws were more of a result of him trying to force things. I see way more weaknesses in Matt Ryan and Andre Woodson's games personally.

Brohm still had a pretty good senior year.... stat wise 30 TD's and 10 INTS but he played from behind a lot b/c Louisvilles defence was terrible and couldnt stop no one.

Brohm still has better numbers than Matt Ryan who is over rated
