Question marks surround Wake coming into the 2016 season, with most of those focused on the fact that he is 34 years old in a league where that is considered old. People question what the four-time Pro Bowl, one-time First-Team All-Pro selection will be able to bring back to the Dolphins as the season begins.
The real question that should be considered right now is, could Wake be the league’s Comeback Player of the Year?
The Dolphins brought Wake along slowly during the offseason training program, purposely keeping him on the sidelines during drills to make sure he was ready when training camp started. That plan eventually changed, however, as Wake worked his way back into individual, then team, drills and was fully participating during the veterans minicamp.
And, Wake looked like Wake during those practices.
The team has not yet been in pads, so there are still hurdles that Wake will have to cross, including full contact and actual game scenarios, but Wake has looked explosive again and he will continue to get better as the team ramps up the speed when training camp starts in July.
Will Wake be able to turn a shortened 2015 season into a Comeback Player of the Year? Will he come back into the NFL looking to show what last year should have been? Will be have the chip on his shoulder that he carried with him when he came back from the CFL to become the second-leading pass rusher in terms of sacks in team history?
Wake will come back motivated this year. He is going to be looking to prove everyone who is questioning him wrong. He is going to be looking to prove that, at 34 years old, he is not old. And he is going to be looking to dominate the NFL this year.
Which means, we might be asking all the wrong questions. There might only be one question that should be asked.

I believe there is no doubt Wake will be a force yet again, for the simple reason of how much he is driven to succeed. Most people can be measured by age, but there are those that just don't show their age, they are in ridiculous shape, and refuse to allow their body to fail them until they are ready.

Father time will eventually catch up to Wake like everyone, but special individuals like Wake last far longer then they should.

As for Tannchise question, Mario Williams was used correctly in 2014 on the D-line (He succeeeded), and used horribly in 2015 as a LB (He failed). Williams is a premium DE, put him on the line and tell him just to attack, and he is a weapon, drop him back as a LB, and expect him to think, he will continue to fail.

Jordan has had glimpses of the type of player Miami hoped he would be, but the last coaching staff had not idea how to use him, on top of Jordan continuing to fail drug test after drug test. If his mind is right, and committed to getting better (All indications show he might be), he can be a very good player.

Possibly, but he will have a tough hill to climb against Jordy Nelson, Dez Bryant, Jamal Charles, Le'Veon Bell and maybe even Andrew Luck if he's back to form.

Just don't think Cam will get the play time and opportunities the aforementioned players will undoubtedly have if they all stay healthy.

Regardless, Wake will be back and causing damage. He's a model player and has unquestioned work-ethic.

I think he has a good shot, but not if Dion has anything to say about it
In Dions case, i'm rooting for him, but don't you have to do something first for it to be considered a comeback?

How about Kiko Alonso? I'm shocked he hasn't been mentioned yet. He has comeback player of the year written all over him.

Good point. I'll even throw in Kenny Stills, but I doubt he'll have a season big enough for consideration. Alonzo, Wake, Williams, and Stills all make sense as potential candidates.

if Jordy Nelson has a big season, he'll be a favorite. I'm sure most writers have him earmarked already for the award.

how about Mario Williams or Dion Jordan?

To come back one must have actually done something

I never buy that the old staff didnt know how to use Jordan, he just has too many holes to cover up in his game and seems only dedicated to failing drug tests
