Maybe I expected too much...then again maybe I expected more than we got....if your looking towards the future, then maybe, just Maybe the Dolphins did alright...but if your looking for bang for your buck this year...forgetaboutit.

Ginn...at best is a slot receiver and returner...he's not a number one receiver so getting him at 9 is way too costly...and thats if he heals properly...of course we all trust the Dolphins doctors...don't we? If the Dolphins trade Booker...who is going to be his replacement? Hagan? I don't think so...not unless he got a new set of hands.

Beck...here's a decent QB...but he's going to be 26...and my best guess won't be able to start for two years...that makes him 28....if he can't hack the starters job...we have a 28 year old backup...can someone tell me why the Dolphins didn't go after Carr? Even on a crappy team Carr played well...had a great completion ratio...even while getting sacked 249 times...and he already had NFL experience...could he had been worse?

Satele...great center...or could become one...one problem with him is he played in a shotgun system...so he has to learn all the basics all over again...how to hand off the football to the QB...You know the simple things. Of all the picks so far he may have a shot of starting right away...lets hope.

Booker...another player with the rep of being the next Dunn...didn't we just get rid of a rusher that had the same
expectation when we drafted him? And do we need another Running back thats just a third down back?

We had chances to get far better players...did I miss something? We could have done far better...and I can't believe that the Dolphins didn't trade either up or down...and for those that will make an excuse on why they couldn't...why did it appear that many teams could...but they couldn't?

I guess the part that really bothers me of the four players taken...they didn't address a very large obvious need..LT....and please don't tell me that guy's like Free or some other player that will be taken later...there's reason why guy's like Free and others like him are late round picks...they may have some talent..or potential but they aren't ready to start...and we have a need for a LT...this season...not for perhaps a couple years down the road...and didn't the Dolphins already select Alabi..a couple years ago...is he ready...not unless my lying eye's fooled me.

For a team that had the 9th pick...they didn't even acquire one player that was rated best in his position...now thats the real amazing part. Like I wrote earlier, they all may in the future turn out to be great picks...but for now...until they prove it on the field...I have to give the Dolphins a G.

I rather have two great players...two real starters than four question marks...wouldn't you?

Great post.. I agree 100% ..

This draft will go down like when Jimmy Johnson tried to draft for offense by drafting crap like John Avery, Yatil Green, Johnnie Johnson and Rob Konrad..

It was an utter disgrace, and now here we are 10 years later having to deal with more of the same crap .

Miami deserves an F .. Or, maybe you are right with the "G" .

Ginn is not a slot receiver, he is a flanker. What is going to happen is Chambers will now move to the slot, a position he much better at (he thrived at it is rookie season and he played it frequently his probowl year) and Ginn will play out wide. Short bus worthy

Booker, Yes we do need a 3rd down back. In the end, you need the power guy, (Ronnie) and the speedster to take some carries on 3rd down (now, booker.)

as for Ginn, yes hagan will take over for booker. Hagan showed some talent and heart last season. If you're ready to throw him under the bus after one year then your just not a dolphins fan. Ginn will become the slot/#2 receiver. He wont be an every down receiver, and we will run the risk of giving away our play when hes on the field cause we will try some fancy stuff with him. But if nothing else, Ginn will be fun to watch. Most people were putting him from pick 7-20, so we didnt reach.

Satele, Great pick. theres absolutly nothing wrong with him. He ran a shotgun offense, thats problematic for QB to change, not a center.

and as for Beck, the fact that he's 26 means it will take him less time to get his feet under him. A lot of solid QB's have come out of BYU, and they were all around the same age. Steve Young, Jim McMahon both came out of BYU and had solid careers. You're throwing him under the bus for being a little older, when it could actually be a strength of his.

thanks for a nicely written summary of a very frustrating day. I wish I could find a way to care less about this team. Hey, let's look on the bright side though - something tells me we're going to have several years of practice perfecting how to draft in the top 10...

There were surprises, Ted Ginn Jr., going to Miami instead of Quinn being the biggest. We have to go back in history to give the Dolphins immunity from being immediately posted in the loser column. As the story goes, Ginn was the receiver the Dolphins were considering since last fall. They loved his speed. Unfortunately, a celebration after a touchdown in the BCS Championship Game led to a foot injury and killed his offseason. Ginn still can run a 4.3 40, but he doesn't have full stability in the foot. His foot will be put in a boot for six weeks and then a six-week rehab begins. The Dolphins are willing to wait.

So for at least 12 weeks....Ginn will not be able to practice and play...now that means at the earliest he won't do a thing until the end of July...and thats IF everything goes as expected....and it's been how long already?

What a bunch of babies. I could pretty much guarantee that regardless of what happened today, some people (or most people) wouldnt be happy. Because everyone creates their own mock draft in ther mind, the majority of which are completely unrealistic, anything that happens is a let down. Happens every single yeart. No, we did not take Brady Quinn. And you know what, I would be very curious to see the reaction to Ted if Quinn had not been there at #9... I firmly believe it would be very different. So basically, this comes down to Brady vbs Beck - which is a question that cannot really be answered right now anyway. Cam and Randy took their guy, and thats that. Sure, they could have let us fans sway them int o taking a guy that they did not rate as highly... but really, what good would that do>? So we would be a little more pleased TODAY, and they would sacrifice this team's FUTURE? Please.

The front office doesnt draft to please us. Sorry, they just dont care. And however you want to look at it, that is not an insult to us Fans nor is it a knock on us... but the fact of the matter is that we have no idea the kind of socouting and preparation that goes into one of these things. We watch 3 minute hilight videos and think we could do a better job. Thats total and utter garbage if you ask me. So just sit back, relax, and watch. Dont bother criticizing every pick and claiming we could do better, or we could have traded up or down.. thats your opinion, and here is the place to share it. But, there is abspolutely no reason to call for Cam and Randy's head just because you "disagree". Give me a break. There is a reason they are running this show and you're not.

Hey, I have an idea... LETS JUST DRAFT THE BIG NAMES AND BE THE ARIZONA CARDINALS/WASHINGTON REDSKINS!@ Good idea!

Hey, heres a better one! Lets draft the guys WE like, regardless of where Mel Kiper and Mike Mayock and fishypete have them ranked, and be the Patriots! They do a little bit of winning, dont they?

I won't speak for anyone else...and it appears there's many of us that believe that the Dolphins screwed up big time with Ginn...can't remember the last time the fans boo'd a selection that they made...of course Ginn not being able to do anything until July...could be a reason...but hey...I'm only a fan.

Link?

According t o Cam and Randy, he is at 85% and one month away from bein a full go at our June minicamp.

Now, if you have better sources, please share.

Its one thing not to like the pick.. but dont make it worse than it appears by overreacting and exagerating. Teds health is not the question here.

So, straight from the Head Coach and GM's mouth, or from ESPN?

Tough one.

See? I can also use stupid propoganda to support my opinion.

You can take some people to water but you can't make them drink....where do you think Clayton got the info from? Why didn't anyone jump up to grab the great Ginn...before us if he's so great a player? If not for Hester...we wouldn't be talking about Ginn at all...I take that back...IF not for Hester and Cam knowing Ginn for years we wouldn't be talking about him at all.

Well, how about you turn on Cam and Randy's PC, and hear for yourself. They discuss Ginn's status. Take a drink of that.

Why did nobody jump ahead of us to draft the great Brady Quinn? Or 10 spots behind us for that matter?

The answer to that is easy...but since I'm not a Brady supporter...I don't have to explain the reason...it should be obvious. By the way....when Ginn isn't ready...what will you be drinking?
