I thought Strahan led the NFL in sacks.
I just looked it up and it had Bruce Smith
leading in career sacks and Jason Taylor
wasn't even on the list (has to be wrong)

Anyway, I know Strahan is still playing as
well... is it even possible?

Bruce Smith has 200 career sacks in 20 seasons. Jason Taylor is on track with 106 if he plans to stay with us for another 9 NFL seasons. :)

Well I guess that answers it. I LOVE me some JT, but we aren't going to get 9 more seasons out of him, and especially not at the level he is playing at now.

If he plays long enough.

Taylor is 26.5 only sacks behind Strahan and if Michael continues to be sidelined by injuries, Jason could surpass him in 3-4 years. To catch Smith at 200? Not likely.

Or may increase it, as he will be allowed to be free'd from the double team matchups most offenses put on him. Also depends on how well Roth produces as a starter.

Jason is coming into his 12th season, I think he passes Strahan.

I loved having Bruce and I am glad he was a Bill. That record will likely stand for awhile IMO.

That does not take anything away from JT though he is truely a dominate player.

If Smith was a Dolphin he would have been the best DE of all time, just kidding. smith was a force.

keep in mind, having porter may lower his number of sacks

Or help to raise his number of sacks. He won't be facing as many double teams or offensive lines sliding his way in pass protection.

I didn't love having Bruce Smith as a Bill. :cooldude:

I'm glad we had Richmond Webb to keep Bruce from having some great games against us as he did against other teams in the AFC East.

JT is really hitting his stride, but WOW. 200 sacks over 20 seasons is a big number.
