Ranking the top 20 coordinators across the NFL: Who is No. 1?[/h]
15) Greg Roman, offensive coordinator, Buffalo Bills: Despite a disappointing end to his tenure with the San Francisco 49ers, Roman remains one of the top offensive tacticians in the game. He has the rare ability to blend creative personnel packages and odd formations into a smash-mouth attack that punishes opponents between the tackles. Considering his ability to also manage and develop young quarterbacks, it is hard to dispute his inclusion on this list.

13) Dennis Thurman, defensive coordinator, Buffalo Bills: Rex Ryan's right-hand man doesn't garner the headlines, but he is a key contributor to his boss' defensive success as the pass-coverage specialist. Thurman masterfully builds coverage concepts to match Ryan's exotic pressures, which is why the defensive scheme flusters even the most experienced NFL quarterbacks.

1) Josh McDaniels, offensive coordinator, New England Patriots: There isn't a play caller who gets more production from a unit devoid of exceptional talent than McDaniels. The offensive wizard turned a unit with only two blue-chip players (Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski) into a juggernaut through exceptional scheming and play calling each week.
[h=3]Top three head-coaching candidates[/h] Who will garner attention in next offseason's hiring cycle? Well, obviously, that'll depend on how things play out in the 2015 campaign. But as of right now, these three guys stand out among current coordinators:
1) Teryl Austin, defensive coordinator, Detroit Lions
2) Josh McDaniels, offensive coordinator, New England Patriots
3) Hue Jackson, offensive coordinator, Cincinnati Bengals

Coyle is awful, maybe lazor will mature, I became less impressed with him as the year went on.

Miami's offense went from being ranked 18th to 8th, Lazor already deserves to be on the list as far as I'm concerned. To put that in perspective the other teams that changed offensive coordinators and saw a big increase in rankings were the Ravens from 30th to 9th and the Giants going from 31st to 15th (coincidentally, two of the other offensive coordinators we interviewed).

We could put up 30 points a game next year and still no kdy would talk about our offense. Its no biggie, I know that lazor is top 15.

Lazor can. Coyle can not.

Although Suh might make him seem like a genius

That site is crazy if they think Josh McDaniels is a head coaching candidate. He fell flat on his face as a head coach as most of Belicheks coordinators do. Some people are meant to be coordinators and he is one of them

While that might be true there is probably an owner out there who would be willing to give him a go. You are right though, there are some great OCs that are not meant to be head coaches. As a matter of fact we have one of em as the dolphins HC right now.

You called philbin a great OC? I'm not sure about that. He never called plays in GB. He might be great at teaching his offense though

You can spot the really good coordinators because they do well no matter who is on their squad.

I think Lazor will do better this year, but Coyle...

He has led the downward trend in our Defense since he has been here.

I think Suh is so good that he will make Coyle look 'better', but I still have serious reservations about him.

I would think Coyle would have the best chance. He has 3 of the top 100 rated players while Lazor has none. I know those ratings mean nothing but Coyle did have our defense playing near the top of the league last year until injuries set in. Add in Suh and some luck with injuries and we have Detroit's defense from last year. Coyle has had top 10 rated defense's before.

Lazor's road is going to be harder. His MO is now known by the league and until he figures out the red zone I don't think we are going to be calling him the best. We need to have a red zone running game to go with his current schemes to get better on offense. With the questions marks on the line the only way I way see huge improvement is if Tannehill has a monster year. Could happen.

Ideal situation would be that both would be in the running. A top defense that gives Lazor many chances, or a top offense that allows Coyle to gamble. How ever you want to look at it. I would take either.

Great post bro! I think Lazor will put his offensive unit to work and they will be very successful.
