DAVIE — There’s a reason Chandler Cox, a fullback, made the Miami Dolphins’ 53-man roster. In short, he takes defensive dudes out.

Case in point, Miami’s third preseason game, against Jacksonville. The handoff was to Kalen Ballage, running left. By the time Ballage began to burst, Cox took out a Jacksonville cornerback... and a linebacker... and then a defensive lineman.

“I had no idea until after the game and I saw a video of it,” Cox recalled. “I said, ‘Dang, I thought I just had my guy.’ He was the corner out there. After the game I was like, ‘That was pretty cool. I didn’t know I did that.’ So I was just trying to do my job. And I did more than I was supposed to do.”
