Can Odrick be used as a 4-3 defensive end?

If we resign langford, where does he fit in?  I see wake, starks, odrick, and a ufa or draft pick.  I wonder, if langford was resigned, whether he or odrick would be kicked to end

You know, that's a great question. I wondered this ever since I read that report that we were talking with Langford. I love him as a 3-4 end, but I hate the thought of him playing 4-3 end. That being said, I'm not quite sure if he can play DT either. I'm intrigued to see how he works out, if indeed he is brought back

Odrick might be faster than you think,, especially if the team asks him to drop 10 lbs. Dude has wheels.

I agree he can be faster if he loses 10lbs but pass rushers need to be faster than he is. 4.98 - 40 wont cut it. I like Odrick and am a fan.

The guy is a natural 4-3 DT and will do well pass rushing in there, especially on obvious passing downs.

I agree with the other posters.....could he? Yes. Should he? I say no. He's at his best inside using his quickness and athletic ability to abuse guards as a rusher. I think he can be his most dominate inside.

Reggie White was 6'5'' 300lbs... not saying Odrick is White like - just throwing that out there as there's a number of comments re 'Big DE's'.

Personally, I'd like to see him do it at times... but would prefer a more fleeter of foot DE...

On rushing downs when we put a "big" formation out there sure, but we can't ask him to line up against a tackle and rush the passer.

definitely should be a DT in the 4-3. we will have a stockpile of tackles and now we just need one more end and we'll be set.

Use Odrick in a 4-3 base, move Wake from OLB to DE in passing situations, works for me.

I think that part of the appeal of Odrick is that he can be servicable at any of the DL positions and allows flexibility for injuries. But in a 4-3 he will be most effective as a DT and will be used in that role more often than not...

Odrick could be a probowl DT in a 4-3.

If we do go 4-3, as our main package, then we need to sign Avril/Williams. And if no trade up for RG3, draft Keuchly.

Our defense would be damn good.

My thoughts exactly. Or sign someone like Lofton, and draft Coples/Perry/Upshaw. Either way, besides QB, these have to be addressed

Like most are saying he could but you really want a faster guy as a 4-3 DE.

He has played DE in the 4-2 with Miami so that's really the same thing.

Other then QB, DE is a HUGE need cuzz this team only has one guy that can play it well " Wake " and we need two.So if we don't pick up a really good one in FA they will have to draft one, and it will have to be a high pick because they would be drafting him to play a lot next year.
