Our Defense is way better than the Bucs. I would say the best overall defense right now is the Ravens....the Bears are also right up there but they lost Tank and Harris was gimpy last year. I think the Phins are definitely top five.
Had #4 Defense last year.
Add J-Peezy a pro bowl OLB who loves to kill QB's.
Add another year of experience for our secondary.
Add Bell starting the hole season.
Add Roth becoming a full time starter.
Add better offense play witch leads to more pressure on the oposing offense to make plays, more time to rest in between drives, and being able to be more agressive with blitzes
That all equales the # 1 defense in the NFL

In pre-season rankings I'd put us at #2 behind Baltimore. Chicago is 3rd and New England is a close 4th.

Our D can be #1 but they will have to do a lot better on 3rd downs. We finished 17th in 3rd down success (89 of 234) at 38%. They will have to get that down to the 30% range for them to have a chance at being #1.
BTW, the Raven led the league in this area with 28.8%.

LOL, yeah man It's so funny b/c I like him too and it seems like he's a quiet fan favorite who everybody is rooting for.
HOWEVER, lol , he hasnt really done anything and it's all just wishful thinking.
I like ur enthusiasm though and I hope he becomes a playmaker too.
Dolphin fans you will know about your d real early,they play my redskins game 1 and that d will be tested with our potent run game and your secondary will have to contend with santana moss and crew with our young qb who has a rocket arm and should improve greatly from last year...

He played really well when he first entered the lineup. There are plenty reasons for optimisim and it's not just wishful thinking. He has some work to do in coverage, but he could become a very good safety.
