YES I KNOW I SPELLED JETS WRONG...if you don't know why i did that you haven't been on this forum for very long.

Well am most of you guys have seen and know our Fins flaunt the NFL's best rushing attack by nearly 20 yards a game.

And we all know that Rex Ryan is a very good D coordinator and will bring the heat....so the question is can our big hogs up front get the push needed for us to establish our O....now i think alittle more will be put on Henne to make quick reads and get the ball out but it still lands on our rushing attack to do the trick.

I personally think that we need to establish a good screen game Ronnie and Ricky both have great hands and of course have great open field skills....i think if we can establish a solid run game (i dont think we get nearly 250 yards) then we may slow them down....trust me they wont stop blitzing but a good rushing attack and some 20+ yard screen plays may lower their frequency so that Henne is not under pressure all day.

I am not terribly impressed with the Jests D....but i am sure they are not very much impressed with ours....i think Henne and Sanchez will have a tough game with lots of pressure it may come down to one of them making a big play...maybe a 12 yard scramble on 3rd and 10 or something along those lines.

So what do you guys think. Does the running attack have to get going early and often or will Henne shoulder the offense more? Can our O-line get the push? Or is it more important that they do a better job creating a pocket?

I expect them to do what this did in the bills game and that's come out and throw deep a few times early (Hope they connect lol) to soften them up a bit BUT, if you think about it we have been running against 8 or more in the box all season and it hasn't slowed it down. So I expect us to run at them from every angle and punch them in the mouth often. I also expect to see a couple new wrinkles this week that we probably had prepared against the bills but didnt need to use em.

The tile of the thread should be "Can the Jests D slow down our run game"

The Jets have a very good defense. The passing defense is especially good. They are ranked 10th in rushing defense, but Rex Ryan understands how to shutdown the wildcat. I believe we can rush effectively versus the Jets defense with our base offense. The wildcat will do well if we tire out the defense with our base package.

The Jets have one of the best secondaries in the NFL. This is why they can apply so much pressure. I am curious to see how we attack them in the passing game.

I don't know if Rex's D can shut down the wildcat with Smiley, Grove, and thomas in the interior, I know they can with allen, Satele, and can't remember the name at rg last year.. Let's see them do it with this OL

Will be the best test for our rushing attack - maybe all season. I'm excited to see how we do.

I'm thinking it will be more of a challenge for our OL (especially Grove). I am not worried about RB laying the wood to Bart Scott.

Besides, they are somewhat vulnerable, they are giving up an average of 4.2 yards per carry and have allowed 259 yards rushing in the last two games alone.

As good a defensive coordinator as Rex Ryan is, it's gonna go down to personnel, the Jests defense can not compare to that of the Baltimore Ravens, Bart Scott was a good upgrade, Jenkin's is a giant, Shaun Ellis is good, Reavis is great, I wouldn't think much of Jim Leonard, he was a backup with Baltimore, he wasn't a great pick up from Rex's old team like people think he is, they can blitz all they want, Miami's gonna run it down there ****in throats

At least one site has Grove rated as the best center in the NFL. He is very good, but that might not be the case. He is absolutely one of the top three. I am not worried about him. I am worried about Donald Thomas. He is making a lot of mistakes. He has the power, but he is playing young. He should since this will be his 6th start.

I think the Jets blitzes are going to focus mostly on getting to Henne, the thought of a rookie QB back there is going to skew the game plan a little bit to our favor. Our run game will be a great counter to those blitzes and if we get past the first level when they blitz, expect BIG plays from Ronnie & Ricky! I also think we will have some screen plays drawn up for this game and hopefully we can execute them well. One surprise play I think Sparano has been saving for this game is a pass out of the Wildcat, we haven't done it once this season and I am predicting at least 2 passes out of the WC formation! This is going an amazing game and one we desperately need to win.

GO DOLPHINSSSSS

This is going to be a good test for the O-line. I am really interested to see how Thomas and Grove do. I think they will handle it, and we will be able to run the ball against them and tire them out. If not, it will be interesting to see how Henne does. The rest of the season is going to be fun to watch as this team develops...
