With Ronnie being in a contract year does anyone think that maybe Pat White could end up being a RB for us. It hadn't really crossed my mind until I read this quote:

''He runs by and you think it's a running back running by,'' guard Shawn Murphy said. ``He's that quick.''

If the players on the o-line think he is good enough to be a running back there has to be something there. There is no doubt that he is elusive, proven by his 4000+ rushing yards. He seems to be quick - not fast - so he'll lack the breakaway speed, but Ronnie hasn't shown a lot of break away speed and has done great for us. Hhis weight is pretty much the only issue I can think of and that could be a HUGE issue. =/ Personally I think he could very well be a 3rd down/passing down back for us.

Ronnie may not have the break away speed, but he will run you over...PW will not. PW is not a RB.

yeah, pat white could center the ball to himself and throw the ball up in the air to himself and catch it and reverse hand off to himself and run 100 yards for a touch down. I will be happy if pat white can do anything!!!

Thats the pessimism I've grown to love on this site. I hope you eat these words later.

You have to be built a certain way to be a running back. I don't mean physical stature either. You're mental makeup plays a huge part in playing the running back position. I can't say unequivocally that Pat White would have the "want to" necessary to take that kind of pounding on a consistent basis. I'm not saying it's impossible, just extremely improbable. In my opinion of course.

You plan on pounding Pat White 20 or 30 times a game? Sorry man that is just not even close to possibly being realistic.

This. It's not even reasonable to suggest it. Even Vick, who most agree is more athletic, the vast majority of his rushing yards came on draws, and, broken passing plays. That's signifigantly different from running off tackle from an I position. 20 or 30 impacts from NFL level LBs, D linemen and Safeties, and Pat White is a memory pretty quickly.

Did you watch that interview that was on fins TV?

He would get killed if he played RB. He might be a WR or 3rd down option type back, but as a normal rb he wouldn't last 2 quarters in the NFL.

The O-lineman was talking about his SPEED and quickness.

Plus, it's Shaun Murphey... I'm not sure I'd trust that guy's talent evaluation.

sorry but the only running he will be doing is running as a qb or small possibly of WR. Dont get me wrong this kid does has talent, but he is just not build to run over people. Yes he quickness beat the defender but he will also must able to run straight through the line with big defenders waiting and will not always be able to juke... and multiple times.

Ronnie runs a sub 4.4 4o he definitely has breakaway speed. Pat White is too small to be a RB he gives up almost 35lbs to Ronnie...

He'll do what he came here to do which was run the wildcat...Anything else will be a pleasant and welcome surprise...Plus Ronnie wont be going anywhere for awhile
