I am getting tired of bonehead coaching decisions from year after year.
Can someone explain to me why ted ginn is not returning kicks and punts. He is explosive and had the play of our preseason. If they are punishing him for something its not the time down 0 2. Devone bess ha no explosion in him compared.

Wilford might be in the dog house but with the way we are playing its stupid to throw him one pass a game and that pass being a deep pass in double coverage. Wilford is a possession receiver not a deep threat.

Well, first I wouldn't get to excited over him returning a punt against the Chiefs (I believe) in pre season. Statistical comparisons from Ginn last year and Bess so far show that Ginn averaged 22.74 yards per kick return. Bess is averaging 26 yards this season. For punts, Ginn's return average last year is 9.5 yards. He has 3 this year for a total of 13 yards. Bess has one punt return for 25 yards.

It could be that they see something in Bess that is better then Ginn. Perhaps quickness or vision. I don't know but I am sure that they are putting the best suited athlete in the position that they feel can do it best.

Ginn is no doubt faster than Bess but I have two criticisms of Ginn that I think may limit him as a returner.

First is that he seems to go down rather easily. He rarely makes the 1st guy miss.

Secondly, he isn't particularly shifty if that's the right word. Give him a lane and he's deadly but he doesn't seem to be able to quickly change direction and fake someone out.

Regardless, I doubt they're keeping Ginn from returning kicks to focus solely on being a receiver. I think that Sparano feels that Bess is the better return man and so far Bess looks to be pretty good.

Honestly I 'm not sure Ginn is ever going to be a great NFL receiver but I'm growing increasingly concerned that he'll never blossom with Pennington at QB.

You hit the nail on the head on why Ginn is not been returning kicks and punts. They feel that Bess is better b/c he is stronger and can break tackles.

rookie head coaches have growing pains just like the rest every other career in the world. If you have a new NFL head coach every 2 years than you are going to consistently see bonehead calls. That is just how the world works. Don't stress over it.

i also dont see why they would have ginn doing the work in the preseason he does what they ask and makes a play and takes a punt for a td than he gets no work during the season so far.
The normal response i get is we dont want our number 1 wr getting hurt on that well he is obviously not our number 1 right now...

Ginn looked tentative and scared returning kicks during the Jets game. Sparano is trying to build a tough team, and I am sure he made his decision after watching the tape.

I have to give the triplets a pass on some of the moves they've made relative to the depth chart at this point. When virtually every player on your team sucks you might as well throw whomever you want out there until something sticks.

I get what others are saying, bess makes people miss, is shifty, yadada.

Ginn has proven in the NFL that he can take it to the house. One punt and two kicks if not for stupid penalties. We are looking for a spark, if your not going to play the kid then at least have him return kicks. Bess has not proven he can take it to the house and was not known for his retunr abilities Ginn is and was known for that. If he is doing that bad, coach him up. But don't sit him on the bench on kicks, receiving maybe but not on kicks.

Well we know it sure as hell isn't because they dont want to get our #1 WR hurt! BTW who is our #1 reciever??? Hagan?? Bess?? Who is this guy cause I haven't seen him yet. Personally I think that Ginn can make some plays. He has the speed and talent, but he still isn't there with his route running yet. He never had to be in college because his speed was enough to carry him. Well now he is with the big boys and he is just a little faster than them but they can use position to get around his speed.

We need to use Ginn as a deep threat and make people have to cover his speed some how and some way that has to happen. The guy catch's the ball well when he is open, but I just dont see any of these WR's getting open and without a half way talented passing game our running game goes no where.

They need to figure something out and they need to do it soon, or we are going to be playing for that good ole #1 pick in the draft again this year. I'm tired of this team being chocked full of losers and backup that we are led to believe are overlooked talent. How about we get some PROVEN talent in here and lets see what they can do.

Prime example for me is Wilford. The guy was a good player on the Jags, then all of the sudden he become a Dolphin and forgets how to play, and is inactive the first game??? I dont think so!! There is something going on with the system here and offense here!!

LETS GET THIS FIXED!!!!

it would not suprise me if all the wrs are in the dog house.
the truth about miami is that the front office cant find their way to buffet table but they sure come up with some real fruitcakes.

first it was Wanny
then came Bates and he was just as good as the last three coaches were.
then came the munchkin
then came the village idiot , i think baltimore found their idiot.
then came sparano, i told you people there is something really wrong with this franchize and there is something going on behine the scenes.

I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. Ginn was too good of a KR/PR in college, shawed he can take it to the house last year and even returned one in the preseason.

I am usually a big stat guy but this is a bit different for me. Ginn actually returned a few last year for touchdowns and a few more that were called back by penalties All that and our special teams blocking was putrid.

If you look at ginn, just watch him. You feel he can do something at any given moment and you can even say he proved it.

If you look at Bess, I just dont feel that.

Of course thats just an opininon and stats usually do speak louder than words

I read somewhere that the coaches felt Ginn had good straight line speed, but he lacked quickness and shiftyness. that probably why Bess is returning kicks and punts.
