This would appear to be a very premature question but, I find it more interesting than if Brady leaves the Pats within 3 years. I was listening to Pollian and others yesterday who say that a teams best chance to get to a SB is when they have a VG QB before he signs the BIG contract. The reasoning is simple and does make sense. The team can afford to pay surrounding talent much more before than after.

With that in mind, IF Tannehill looks to be the "Chosen One" his year, is it possible for him to do that in the next 3 years or, is it a far fetched dream?

I will leave my comments out of this other than to say if Ryan is still your QB in 3 years it will mean he had a big year this year and will sign a big extension.

Doesn't seem to hurt the excellent QB in the leagues chances of getting to a Super Bowl after the three years. I will take the good QB play and take my chances, as to the original question playoffs would be a nice first step.

The correct answer is its both possible and a far fetched dream. I think the window is smaller than 3 years though, it needs to happen this year or next, and it needs to start with a decent playoff run this year at the very least. They're still hungry right now, maybe as hungry as they've been in decades, but go 8-8 again and apathy will start to set in.

Ryan can take Miami to a Superbowl as early as this year, Ryan could also fall on hard on his face, and be out by as early as next year.

Tools and talent wise, he can be good enough to take Miami as far as they want to go if 1. The line holds up. 2. Few injuries to the receiver position. 3. Moreno and Miller compliment each other well eno7ugh to give Miami a running attack. 4. The defense play as well as many of us hope they can.

On the other hand, if Tannehill is not able to work well under this new offense, the O-line reminds us of last year, the defense again folds at end of games, or Miami's running game is again nonexistent, this team will be luck to maybe finish 3rd in the division.

I believe Miami will challenge the Pats this year for 1st (Picking Miami hard this week), but will probably fail in the end, but still will reach the playoffs. As for SB, I believe this will reach a SB in the next 3 years, if the talent we have continue to grow, which I believe they will.

Excellent and VG are different. I'm looking at recent history in Wilson, CK, Flacco, Eli, and do see the point he's making. I would not call any excellent but VG. Not sure when others signed their BIG deals.

If Tanny doesn't get it done this year with all his new weapons and improved o-line I will lose hope for him to become the franchise QB.

How about we make the playoffs first?

We are definitely better on offense than last year: our OL will be improved; a running back; and while not world beaters we have a talented group of WRs; a TE in Clay who has now a year under his belt and will get better; a new OC and new scheme on offense

What happened last year can not happen again. If Tannehill does not make a huge step forward then I see the Dolphins getting at least QB competition next year. Lazor and Hickey have no investment in Tannehill and they will not let their careers ride on a QB they did not pick.

Next to Philbin Tannehill is playing for his job.
