Look I LOVE Dan Campbell. I love his leadership, his intensity, and his no BS demeanor. I love the Chuck Norris jokes. I hope he can continue this journey and become the head coach (that'll obviously mean we are winning). The players obviously love him as well as fans and even media members, but can they truly keep this up? I mean I have watched every game for the last 15 years and am as loyal as they come, but is it wrong I'm not letting myself get too excited? If we take an L to the pats, which lets face it is a strong possibility, are they going to respond with the same intensity the following week? and again the next week? I think while I am indeed strongly rooting for Dan and the team, I just need to see more of it before I declare this team is a real force.

I feel like a scorned woman who is guarding her heart. haha. Thats what being a fan of this team has done to me over the years. I am too young to have witnessed the griese/marino days. I always fall for it every year that it could be different, but the pessimism always creeps in. Please be our savior Dan. We've been waiting long enough. The true fans that always stick around deserve it.

I hear you! I keep saying I find it hard to believe that motivation was the only thing missing here. We'll see, tomorrow night will tell us a lot. If we get blown out of that stadium we are not for real.

I mean I get that having soft practices weren't exactly preparing them to suddenly turn it up on Sunday's. I think his changing of the practices and having the team hold each other accountable through competition is building more of a brotherhood. The result is them playing for each other. I expect the intensity to fade a little (we cant expect a 40 burger all the time) but I think he can still raise the overall play of the squad on a weekly basis. Im just happy he seems to "get it". The common sense stuff we all talk about that Philbin would never acknowledge or fix.

Eager to see how they play in a close game, or even trailing a little.

The Patriots are in for it this Thursday. We might not win the fight but the Patriots will get punched in the mouth.

yes they can. we finally have what the Patriots have had for a long time. Confidence.
Belecheat brings the best out of normal players. He makes them believe in themselves and holds them accountable.
That's exactly what Dan is doing here and they all believe in each other. This can be a scary team.

We shouldn't look at Thursday as a barometer for several reasons. Short week games are not representative of the normal coaching cycle, for one. If he had been in place and had HIS routine set up from the beginning it would be a better test but I won't be discouraged because of this game regardless. The second reason is that there is No one better at exploiting weaknesses than BB and we have them especially at 1 CB and linebacker.

It's one game at a time. But it's beyond obvious this team is playing legit football and has the potential to do some damage along the way.

I thought for sure our season was OVER a few weeks ago. So everything from here on out is kind of a gift.

So we'll see...

BNF.

Pats are a true test for obvious reasons, but road game, div game, and a tough team - if we can get aggressive on that, after the last two teams, then we are good

I think Brady will make the play to break the game open for them, but I expect the Fins to beat them up and keep it close.

we'll see what he's made of once the going gets tough. i just hope he gets some sleep in the meantime

I've been struggling with this myself. It's hard to conceive that we could continue to play the way we have the last two weeks. Haven't seen consecutive games like this in 2 decades. Fire, passion and intensity that just doesn't exist anymore in a dolphins jersey. I'm very very pumped, but also keeping myself checked in reality bc tmrw night is a HUGE test of the validity of what we've seen the last two games.
If we lose, but keep it competitive I think we still will be hearing praise.
If we win a close one I think the praise doubles.
If we win convincingly I think there will be not a soul left off the bandwagon and we will be considered a legit contender (and chaos will ensue)
If we lose convincingly, we will immediately be dumped back off the radar as quickly as we came on to it. and Finheaven will explode with 40 "I knew it" threads.

Do I think they'll continue this constant level of ridiculous domination week in week out for the rest of campbells career? Probably not. Do I think they'll always be physical and will play hard for their coach? Definitely

Looking at it from a season stand point, we are going to lose some games. I'm optomistic this December that there will not be a collapse because the players will play for Cambell as their coach. Maybe we can back into the playoffs with a 9-7 record and that should be enough to keep Cambell win or lose on Thursday.

This. Spot on.

Jessejames, I understand what your saying, it is very tough to believe it will continue, considering how we have seen this story before quite a few times, but I also believe there is something different this time.

What we are watching right now is pretty much what I believe most of us expected to see from this team this year (Well, maybe not anywhere this dominant, but still winning, and on occasion, some dominance), we thought if Albert stayed healthy, this team's Offense was going to score quite a bit of points with it's deep WR squad, an explosive RB like Miller, and an upgrade at TE with the addition of Jordan Cameron (No disrespect to Clay who was and is a great TE in his own right).

The defense was no less exciting, with the addition of just one player, one special player. Suh is that one player that makes the entire defense better, and even though the secondary was not ungraded, even though the LB squad (to be more precise, basically M-LB) was not upgraded, but because receiver would have less time to run their routes before the QB became hamburger, because RB would have a hard time getting past the D-line, the secondary and LB squad got better with just the addition of Suh. Consider having to block Suh on a passing play, while allowing Wake, and Vernon to have to only handle single pass-blockers, or on a running play to have to get through Wake...Mitchell...Suh...Vernon.

This team had high expectations.

Then they lost Albert...that was not the reason they underachieved, but it helped. They were averaging running the ball 10 times a game...that was not the reason they underachieved, but it helped. Wake was playing hurt...that was not the reason they underachieved, but it helped. Lost Delmas for the year...that was not the reason they underachieved, but it helped.

The real reason they were underachieving was they was playing with no fire, they with playing with no hear, no passion. When Miami got rid of Philbin, and promoted Campbell, I said that if he can at the very least light a fire under them, this team will be competitive, and they were, but he did much more then that.

In practice, he changed it up where they were allowed to hit each other, allowing the starters to be more game day ready. Dan also added a few more wrinkles at practice... Oklahoma drill, tug-o-war, Rugby circle, unit that wins, wears the victorious black uniforms for rest of week. The team did not just respond, they were like individual volcanos ready to erupt at any moment, they liked Campbell so much, the famous "Will run through a way for him." quote was heard again and again.

This is what I earlier called the domino effect if things started to work, and this is far from over, this team is on an out of their minds high, and I am sure Dan and the Coaches are doing all they can to control them from getting to high, but when they reach that football field, it's up to you if you want to get in their way.

Do I believe Miami without doubt will beat the Patriots? No, It can go either way, the Patriots are a very smart and talented team at home, with above average coaching, but if Miami does not win, the Patriots will have felt their presence in a big way, and this version of the Miami Dolphins will not go into a fetal position and start slowly losing their confidence, this version, like the Patriots do, will take it out on the next opponent.

I don't believe this team will be going away anytime soon.
