I believe we have not seen the best from this defense. Minkah, Baker, and McMillian seem to be play better each week with the obvious exception of the Patriots game. Our DTs are playing well, and if Taylor and Godchaux continue to grow this defense could be special. Forget our anemic offense for a moment and consider the defense. Do you believe they will continue to improve?

Depends on the mike play. But Miami has done well to pull raek in the nickel for Kiko and Baker. Bakers play has really rescued the unit of late. And hid the mike deficiencies.

We get good mike play we can be a better defense.

Really impressed with the defense. The one bright spot. The young guns have been coming through

Good nucleus of young talent at each level and they should only get better. Burke might have stumbled on to something with Baker blitzing....

I think that this defense could really shine if we had an offense.

That is a very good point.

I have not looked at the replay, but my impression is he played better this game. I did see him make more plays during the game. He produced his best stat line of the season, but 6 tackles, 4 solo, and 1 TSL is low for a Mike.

Baker had a great game. He is steadily improving his play as he gains experience.

Raekwon is a weak link, but Baker has been better than expected. Baker could really be something special, he has a high motor and flies all around the field. We have a really good core of young guys who are playing at a high level and yes they will only continue to get better so yea this defense will improve provided they stay healthy.

The D is one of the things letting me have a glimmer of hope for the rest of this season.

Too often we've seen Miami start good on D (maybe because of opposing teams being rusty or the lack of game film not exposing flaws) only to fall off as the season progresses.

This unit seems to be taking steps forward as the young guys get more experience and unlike other seasons, we are expecting to get quality players back who will improve things, rather than losing quality and having to plug in chaff...

Provided we're lucky with injuries the rest of the way, I really think the D could develop into a really good unit.

They can get better but in order to be great we'll need to get another pass rusher. Quinn has played well but we need a pass rusher on the other side. I agree Baker has played well. I still hope RM can get better after coming back from major surgery. Minkah's getting there too.

What I'd like to know is why did the defense do so well, and then go belly-up? Miami had them shut out. But, the Bengals made adjustments, and Burke was unable to counter those adjustments. Did Miami even have a defense on the field in the 4th quarter?

??? they gave up 13 points to a prolific offense, they played above expectations

Is Burke supposed to defend Tannehill's turnovers too?
