In the first two weeks of the 2009 season, the ACC has produced the two most exciting games, Miami versus Florida State and Clemson versus Georgia Tech. Week three is poised to start off with a bang.

With a big Thurday night showdown against ACC rival Georgia Tech, the Hurricanes still have a lingering taste in their mouth from last year's embarrassing game. Georgia Tech ran for 472 yards, including 93 yards by returning Quaterback Josh Nesbitt and 128 yards by Superstar running back Johnathan Dwyer. The Hurricanes are an abysmal 1-4 against Tech since joining the ACC.

The Hurricanes defense should not be suprised when they line up against the Yellow Jackets' offense. In the first two games, 73 percent of Georgia Tech's plays from scrimmage were running plays. When the ball did go up in the air, Tech was 10-27 with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions...

I don't know, but Tech is concerned. The coach said after watching the UM/FSU game on Labor Day, that it reminded him of the UM teams of the late 80's. He said we're 'very, very fast', and 'hard to keep up with'. We've lost the last four matchups with those guys, so they should be looking for a little payback. Go Canes!:woot:

I think we may have a tough time stopping their option, but I think they'll have an equally tough time stopping our offense.

I'm thinking it's going to be a shootout, and be one of those games that whomever has the ball last will win. (Kind of like that last FSU game)

That's just me though.

The key to stopping the trip option is to stack the middle and keep Jonathan Dwyer in check. If you guys can do that it will disrupt GT's offensive rhythm.

I have to admit before the season I really thought this would be a game GT would dominate but after watching the Canes offensive firepower in the passing game I've changed my tune.

This is going to be a tough game between two teams with totally different philosophies.

It's going to be a great game.

Blocking Morgan on G Tech's DLine is a must....he was a beast against Clemson. Used to be real worried about Tech's blitzing schemes when Jon Tenuta was there, but they haven't seemed the same the last two years. If they tackle, they can contain, but not stop the option. Anything less than 200 yards rushing for Tech is a big win for the Canes.

they can't stop our offense and i believe we play against the run better then the pass so this is a good set up for us

Jacory Harris needs to build off that FSU game and with the home crowd on his side this time around, there's plenty of hope that he'll play better than he did in Tallahassee.

As for the defense, stopping the triple option is the MAIN thing they must focus on as they struggled against FSU's option plays. If you can stop GTU's option, you stop their offense. That's a fact.

Now can UM do it? That's another question.
