Is this somehow possible? I always liked Gruden, and thought he got thrown under the bus (I don't know details tbf).

Maybe McD can write up a few plays and be the guy that comforts the players and cries for them when they get hurt and the funny guy at the podium. McD can be the players "coach" or good cop, but Gruden is the bad cop and makes training camp hard work instead of a country club.

Lost a lot of faith in McD this year when Tua went down, sure looked in over his head and not ready to try to win the game. Seemed unable to get over his sadness for Tua due to inexperience. I do like McD fwiw but not as hopeful as I was last offseason. /shrug

Replace the head coach and ask him to remain on the staff in a lesser role?

no-absolutely.gif

I didn't think other teams were interested in McD as their HC....It's McD in 2025 again and then he gets canned mid season if it's another disaster?

It falls on Grier seems to be majority opinion, but he isn't leaving and Ross really dgaf about him as long as things are profitable I guess

I am so tired of watching the dolphins try to rebuild. Roll with it until it's clearly not working :(

Gruden absolutely sucks. Complete šŸ¤”. I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever seen a head coach who was worse at evaluating talent than John Gruden.

He's toxic & will never be allowed back in the NFL. He's the white guy version of Kaperflunk. Ostracized, but for a different reason.

Totally impossible scenarioā€¦ but a VERY interesting name you brought up.

What exactly has Gruden accomplished? He didn't win a Superbowl. Tony Dungy's team did. Same way Coker won a Championship, rode Davis's coattails.

Do people just wake up from weird dreams and post things? Or not follow football outside of the dysfunction that is the Dolphins? Why wasnā€™t Chuck Noll kept as head coach and hire Bill Cowher as a super-duper head coach in waiting? Why couldnā€™t Shula work hand in hand with Jimmy Johnson as a his heir apparent? Why didnā€™t Dan Campbell hang around as a sort-of head coach when they hired Gase as head coach?

Are you suggesting we have two head coaches?
