I know it is normally reserved for retired players, but I am willing to make an exception. He has been a team leader since he was a rookie and hasn't slowed down one bit. They changed schemes on him completely and everyone wrote him off. He proceeded to have his typical numbers. He renegotiates his contract and welcomes anyone in who can help the team to the ultimate goal. He is the definition of team player.

Everyone should realize what we have in him and embrace him. He will not be around for too much longer and when he is gone, we will truly miss him. Revel in his glory now. :dolphins:

Without a doubt!! I couldn't think of a better way to thank him for his unselfish attitude, hard work and heart. It would also send a message to the younger players if you do follow Zachs example you get rewarded if you follow players like TO.....need I say more?? That would be a huge message.

You said it! No doubt about it Zach is one of the greatest Fins of all time

I would put him in at halftime of his final game with the Phins....hopefully he will play for many more years and also make the Hall of Fame.

How kool would that be if his last game was the super bowl next year in Miami and he won? I wouldnt like to see him leave after next year, but that would be one heck of a way to leave eh?

Yes. I will repeate what I said in another post:

Zach Thomas IS the miami dolphins. He will retire as a Dolphin. Short of Dan Marino, he is one of the people you think of when you think of "Dolphins".

Let him leave in 09 or 10 forget which one it is but its in Miami, Id be so depressed if he left next season

It wouldn't be as meaningful if he were put there now. After he retires he'll get a nice ceremony and it will mean more because we can look back at his career (hopefully with a ring). Plus you can't break tradition, Marino had to wait until he retired.

Willing to take a pay cut at this time in his career when most people (Ray Lewis) want their last big contract is just a testament to his character and epitomizes Zach Thomas.

He was relatively healthy this season also compared to '04-'05 and as long as he has that kind of injury run this year he should nearly be a lock for DPOY.
