Can we throw the ball more than 15yds? If we don't start trying to, it is going to be very hard to run the ball and score points. Teams are going to start stacking the box and moving their safteys in. As more teams start watching film on us it is going to get harder and harder to score points.

Pennington had a 53 and 80 yard TD yesterday. Granted the 80 yarder was a screen pass, but the 53 yarder was a deep pass. So to answer your question, yes.

Good post! Don't forget the 39 yarder to Ronnie.

The one play was a gimmick play and the others were short passes that were taken for big gaines. I wanna see us throw the ball down the field. If you guys think that those type of passes will get us through the season, then we are in trouble. We never put pressure on the dbs. Good things happen when you throw the ball down field. It softens up a defense. If you don't think so, then you don't know football.

If we are able to throw the ball pass the 10 yard marker then we are able to win games. I don't think you should blame our lack of Vertical long passing game with the receivers that we have. I don't think we have a great receiving group and you should just stick to watching games and enjoy them. If we lose then we lose, you can stop watching the games if you want.

Pennington also hit David Martin on a 17-yard strike on a perfectly thrown ball into bracketed coverage.

It still shows Pennington does have the armstrenght, and accuracy, just not the confidence to throw down field. So yea, we can throw the ball more than 15 yards. And even in other games, we've thrown it for more than 15 yards. When Henne played vs the Cardinals. When Dan Marino played.

In all serious, C.P. has done it too

i dooubt it, noodle arm

i've been watching chad pennington play for the jets the last 7 yr's............. never seen a good downfield strike....... you know he throws like a girl. no power , more like a lob.....
but he is a good leader and game manager.......... he'll start here 2 -3 yr.. until henne is ready to relieve him, then he can be the back-up.........

he play's boring football,

This is exactly what teams did the first 2 weeks, and exactly why we are running the Wildcat;)

Suggestion to finheaven posters.

When we lose 14-10 conplain about the offense.

When we lose 29-28 with 4 offensive TD's featuring a 2 long TD's, another long pass play setting up a third TD and other passes over 10 yards, we complain about the defense. Pennington is money on this WRless team right now. The guy has 2 picks, one was a desperation prayer of a throw and the other was tipped. Chad was not the problem Sunday.

yea chad is by no means the problem.

Everytime he drops back he looks like he knows what he is doing.

His only two picks this year are a desperation throw to Ginn in the endzone (the only mistake on that one happened a few years ago with the 9th pick) and the fasano drop/tip crazy camarillo play.

Chad has been our best player through the first 5 games. He is one of the only on the team I have confidence in on both sides of the ball.

i didn't say he wasn't good, he just dosen't strech a field or have a big arm.......... you can't argue that ......... i know he is playing well, but still a noodle arm
