cant blame all on gus

It wasnt Gus fault. He did ok, but like you said no running game, no blocking, and drop passes...plus the stupid penalties...that's why we lost the game

we need a running game to take pressure off gus and to let our defense rest up.

our running game hasn't been that good yet.

morris did a good job, wonder why he didn't get more carries.

gus is playing mistake free ball which is all we can expect from him.

plus our damn receivers are having the seahawk's main problem last year, which was craploads of dropped passes.

Exactly. Gus is what he is. Hes a decent qb who will win games when the team around him plays up to its ability. He will not put a team on his shoulders and create wins. He put most of his passes where they needed except for the end of game INT with 2 mins or so that was intended for McMichael. He cant teach Chambers how to hang on to a ball etc. He can only put it where its catchable.

Ferrotte played ok, he's basically Fiedler all over again with less mobility. But he knows this offense very well and with our o-line improving and some offensive weapons Gus should be ok for this season. For a team thats building you cant really be upset about this loss. The Jets are a good team and we played them pretty close. I think the next time we see them we'll be a lot better. The drops are just mental mistakes, Im sure Saban will rip into those guys this week and I wouldnt expect to see as many drops next week against Carolina. Of anything Id have to say Ronnie Brown worries me the most, I know hes a rookie and he has a lot to learn but usually with RBs some talent or explosiveness is obvious even when their young. Ronnie is big, hes a good blocker and he can catch but I dont see much burst or elusiveness. Maybe he just needs to get his swagger back but Im still questioning this pick. Its seems to me we invested 2 much money and 2 high of a pick on combine numbers. Caddillac may not be 6'1 230 with a 4.4 40, but the guy is a gamer. It mightve been smarter to pick the starter from Auburn instead of his backup, but hopefully Im wrong.

I was happy with Gus's play. I would take that constiencty anyday. Our recievers need to catch, our line needs to block, and our dam backs need to run next week for us to have ANY chance at all.

We do need a quarterback that can take over games sometimes. Game managing is great, you can win a lot of games that way but sometimes games like today happen and you need the quarterback to make something happen. Gus is playing commendable, he is what he is, theres no use having him try to do too much, he can't do it. That said we need to finally get someone in here that can take the burden on his shoulders sometimes.

After what I thought was some really good defense and clock management to put us in position to catch up what happens? The play before the interception Boston's cover man FELL DOWN!The man was on the ground and Boston was WIDE OPEN!!!! If Gus is not going to throw the ball then put someone in that will!!

Gus shouldn't even be mentioned in accordance with this loss. His play had nothing to do with the problems.

And Gus is not another Jay Fiedler. One thin I like about Gus is that he can make ALL of the throws. It's nice to see a guy with a damn arm and some touch. With jay you got noodle, and with Feeley you got constant lasers.

Hey, our O line did it's job, I saw wholes that Ronnie didn't take, one time we handed off to Evans, a huge whole big enough to drive a truck through and only white shirts was open to his left about 1 foot, he put his head down and plowed into the back of an O-lineman and pushed ahead for like 1 yard, could have been a huge play if he would have hit the whole.

Ronnie had some nice openings too, but after his two and three sidesteps they closed up. He will be a barry sanders type runner in my opinion and I completely agree with the drafting of him at #2 overall because HE WILL BE THAT GOOD. Right now he is not, and He shouldn't be starting right now. Morris should get the start and use ronnie for a change of pace back later in the game, or a 3rd down back and make use of his hands. Let him learn from Ricky on how to hit NFL style holes and take what the D gives instead of trying to bounce everything to the outside and hoping for a 20 yard run on every touch.

How 'bout Boston going deep and NOT FIGHTING FOR THE BALL!! If im him and i want to resurrect my career.. Id be catching that ball come hell or high water!..

yeah, you are so right after all every QB in the league hits every open receiver... Come on he didn't play perfect, but I will say he would get my nod for Dolphins Offensive player of the game. He played much better than his surrounding crew set him up to play.

Mcmike had a good game as well, but Gus was not the problem in this game, and he was the prime reason for last weeks awesome performance. If he misses an open guy once in a while so be it, he is no Dan Marino, but neither is any QB in the league right now. I've seen Peyton Manning not notice open guys same with Brady, and yes even gus might have either already progressed through his route or not progressed to looking at his route yet. I would like to see you get in there with 4 6'2 275lb men with your head being their biggest prise turned loose on you and you take that extra second to fine the guy wide open.

Obviously you are a spectator and have never actually played football.
