It's always been said that yes, Gus isn't the best, but he would do better if we had a better o-line. However, especially after watching today's game it's quite apparent that that's not true. Being from Atlanta, I was watching the game on the TV, and a couple minutes BEFORE Gus threw that awful INT they displayed some stats. They showed that Gus had been hurried 0 times, sacked 0 times, presssured 0 times, and knocked down 0 times, yet his passer rating was a 66. As a qb in the nfl you need to be able to handle the pressure and still make good plays. However, Gus didn't even have pressure put on him.

I remember seeing 0 sacks, 0 pressures, and 0 knock-downs on Gus in the 4th... I was in shocked, does anyone know if we finished the game like that? I know we had 0 sacks allowed... Our O-line has been impressive but I still say we need an upgrade at C and LT.

the line looked like they were playing "together as a team" today.. finally!

I agree. I think the team should move cautiously at upgrading the positions along the O-line. The best lines in the league are the ones that have players who have been playing together for a long time. If we blow up one side, we could lose the investment that has already been made in some of these guys.

The line looked really good today. They're starting to move the pile in the running game. Too bad the OC would rather put the game in Gus's hands :shakeno:

That's a really good point. Particularly with how they have shown improvement each week. The line is no longer the weakest link on the team.

Im happy they played well, now lets see them continue doing that.

yup.. the line took some heat last year and earlier this year... I think what happend helped pull them together as a unit, take some pride in what it is they do on the field. and now its beginning to show.. as long as they continue to improve I think we'll be ok.

I really only think we need to upgrade the C position, we have
LT-Carey
LG-James
C-3/4 round pick next year, SETH SUCKS!
RG-Hadnot-i love this guy

You batted .600. Carey is starting at RT and McIntosh is at LT.

I finally got to tape our game, first time since preseason. I'm reviewing it now and my first impression that McKinney had a good game looks accurate. He really does understand positioning well. The block on Ricky's TD run was terrific. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned much, if any, on this forum.

Hadnot is a bull and James, while somewhat lean for a LG, is very good on the move. We're finally starting to use him more in that regard, probably just confidence in calling certain plays.

While the line looks improved and better than I expected, my ongoing concern is how unathletic and poorly sculpted they look as a group. I know that reads weird, but when Atlanta broke the huddle you could see the spry and athletic physiques among their offensive linemen, while ours look like blobs. Especially McIntosh, McKinney and Carey.

Man, I wish we had #7 (Feeley) behind center now! I'm sorry, but he showed some guts last year given the situations that he was put in (running for his life).
Our offensive line is improving and they are giving Ferrotte plenty of time to overhthrow every pass.

Nick, You have done a tremendous job turning the Miami Dolphins and their fans into believers but an intergral piece of this puzzle is at QB, Let's give Sage a shot! We are not going to the superbowl this year and if Gus is behind center next year, we will not go then either.

Start Sage. What is the worst that can happen? We win some games???

I Dont Understand Why This Team Doesnt Understand How Important The Qb Position Is!!! I Mean They Should Having Marino On A Crappy Team! If It Wasn't For Marino Our Team Woudl Have Been **** Since He Came To This Organization. Honestly Think About It, It Owuld Have. Ppl Become Too Damn Greedy N I Dont Want To Do This Or Spend This Or Trade This For The Most Important Position In Teh Nfl. I Dont Understand This At All!
