Can't blame the o-line anymore

It's always been said that yes, Gus isn't the best, but he would do better if we had a better o-line. However, especially after watching today's game it's quite apparent that that's not true. Being from Atlanta, I was watching the game on the TV, and a couple minutes BEFORE Gus threw that awful INT they displayed some stats. They showed that Gus had been hurried 0 times, sacked 0 times, presssured 0 times, and knocked down 0 times, yet his passer rating was a 66. As a qb in the nfl you need to be able to handle the pressure and still make good plays. However, Gus didn't even have pressure put on him.

Well, they played a bad first half and still have to many false starts!

I've been saying this since last year... We have the doughiest line in the league. No one is intimidating, from a physical standpoint. None are lean, all are round.

Compare this line to the Cowboys during their SB run. Larry Allen and Nate Newton won SB rings not body building competitions.

That been said they could use a reduction in body-fat. It would combat the fatigue of the long season.

That's exactly right. Lets be honest, the game was gift wrapped for us to at least tie it up at the end. I love the Dolphins, and am always pulling for them every week, but we did get beat by a better team this week. All one can ask for is the chance to win at the end. We had that, it just didn't work out for us. Only thing to do is learn from it, and move on to next week.

great job o line - we should have just kept running the ball down there throats....3rd and 2 inside the ten yard line with Ricky and Ronnie and Barnes as the lead blocker just crushing people and we pass???

Horrible play call and it wasn't the first time in the game where we had some goofy call on 3rd and short when all we should have done was RUN THE BALL.

I know what the stats show about our O-lines play, but I was expecting Atlanta's defense to be blitz happy likes always, but they weren't. This alone made the O-line look better!

I was yelling the same thing at my tv. The play calling against the Saints was the same. If the running is working, why not keep jamming it down their throats. Running wears a defense out faster than anything else.

it is hard for a defense to apply pressure when your passing game consists of snaping the ball and throwing it to a stationary reciever as quickly as possible. Im not trying to take anything away from the o-line they are playing well but we don't have a drop back passing game.

well we had more 3 step drops than ever before in yesterday's game. we didn't throw the ball very much and when we did they were usually very very short passes. they had a good gameplan against the falcon's good pass rush, to neutralize it, but i don't think there was enough variety and when it came down to the end we should have run the ball.

OL playing real well? Somewhat, but it's more of a case of 3 step drops.
