As long as the genius Belichek is trolling the sidelines for the Pats we might as well shoot for the wildcard, shoot we might as well try and win our first game! Very frustrating!!!!!!

I was thinking to myself yesterday at work that I was excited to watch the thursday night game, thinking the Pats would likely lose against a great defense that's really been on a roll. Then suddenly my common sense kicked in and was like "yeah right dude, you know they're somehow gonna find a way to win that damn game!" so I decided not to watch. Last score I saw was 20-0 pats. Dammit. I really ****ing hate the pats AND their ****y ass bandwagoning fans,

Been saying for a long time it takes more than a QB to win. Too many people are focused on the QB around here when the rest of the team is still in shambles. Last night Belichick won with a defense that didn't give up any points and a running game Houston couldn't stop. He sprinkled in short passes and a few QB reads and that was it. Defense and running game carried the team.

Flashback to 2008: Going into week 3, NE's record is 2-0. Miami is sitting at 0-2. Miami beats NE in week 3. Patriots start 3-1. Miami starts 2-2 and eventually gets to 2-4 but still wins division. We had a 4 game win streak AND a 5 game winning streak to finish the season that year.

Not that much difference thus far but I never expected to win the division this year anyway. I would be thrilled with a wildcard PO game.

The defense was better that year. O-line was much better at run blocking obviously and no one was ready for the wildcat to start the season.

Did you call the Texans D Great? Based on what?

Ted Ginn and Greg Camarillo were our starting wide-outs who combined for 4 total TD's. The offense was 21st in points scored. Our QB threw only 19 TD's. Fasano led the team with 7 TD's.

Our D was pretty decent ending up 15th in yards and 9th in points allowed.

Through 2 weeks of that season, did we know what that team was going to be? We certainly do not so far this year. You're assuming our o-line cannot run block based on one game vs the #1 rush defense and another where we abandoned the run with 10 rushes by the running backs.

Anyone that is surprised NE is 3-0 is a fool. They'll probably go 13-3 at worst. Fans of other teams just have no clue what its like to be in the same division as the best team over the last 15 years.

Foster's first 3 carries netted 9 yards against the Pats and they certainly haven't shown anything in the preseason to make me think they can run the ball with any consistency. It's not based off of two games...it's based off of the last 4+ seasons. Miller got 21 carries for 80 yards and Houston didn't even score...of course Houston's D at least kept it somewhat close.

So 3 carries and the preseason is your basis for judging the running game for a line with three new starters in the middle? You use those 3 carries for Foster and I'll point out Kenyan Drake who had a 6 yard per carry average AND a TD. Neither one matters.

No way anyone should judge THIS team based on Joe Philbin's tenure or the past 4+ years.

1-15 schedule no brady and wildcat

That 3.0 ypc average in those first 3 carries are higher than Foster's 2.9 ypc average this year. It's also higher than his 2.6 ypc average from last year.

forget about the division...that ship has already sailed

a wildcard would be great

My hope that comes from last night's game is that it will open the eyes of some people to the fact that football is the ultimate team sport and it takes all three units to be a successful ball club. As much as fantasy football has increased the audience of the NFL, it also severely ******** the overall knowledge of the average fan.

Also of note: Patriots had 6 punts inside the 20. That's huge.
