they havent added wake in yet but if you look at the pats and then the rest of the AFC east you realize why they are the superior team right now...they dont over pay, and as much as our regime says they wont overpay, they do for linemen...still playing 80s football in our Front office...

hopefully it changes next season, but remember when people say we have 50 mill free next year, we need to sign a bunch of our own players back...

Just win games and I don't care how much cap we have

my old athletic director once said, its hard to win the Kentucky derby with a donkey...the point is we are over paying for inferior talent...

Next year we lose a lot of it, but we need to resign half the team...hopefully we dont overpay but people will once again scream that no one wants to come here...

Why do we have $4.8 million in dead money concerning Vernon Carey? Did we not restructure his salary and shorten the term so that he would be a free agent at the end of 2011?

They're so good, they have a cap savings of (28M) in their 10 ten players, and 85M worth of dead cap space in their top 10 on the active roster. Conversly Miami only has 33M worth of dead money in their top 10 on the active roster and a 28M cap savings.. Looks to me like we are actually in a better situation than NE.

We are paying too much for Long and Dansby. I love both as players and i want them on our team, but when you look at the salaries, and our team record, it is difficult to see how we can continue to pay them that kind of money. If their salaries were cut in half, it is conceivable that we could sign 1 or two more prominent free agents.
I was also surprised to see Wes Welker making 9+ million per season. He will probably be a cap casualty, unless he is willing to renegotiate.

I dont really have a problem with what we are paying Long as he performs.. Dansby on the other hand is the most overpaid player on this team by far. He should be making what Reggie is making.

The Dansby contract is killing us.....WAY too much for the production we get from that position. While i thought he was a good player when we signed him, i said back then it was too large of a contract for a guy who wasn't elite, a gamechanger like Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher, etc.

The other 2 contracts that really bother me are Incognito and McDaniel. Incognito is NOT a $5M a year guard.....he's way overpaid. And McDaniel....he's the 4th DT on the team behind Soliai, Starks and Odrick but is the 2nd highest paid! $4M for a backup, a 4th DT? He's a solid player but that's a bad contract.

long is making more than Tom Brady based solely on how the #1 pick used to make money and that is okay with you?

this man will want a raise next year and he IS NOT WORTH WHAT HE IS MAKING RIGHT NOW...NO ONE ON THIS DOLPHINS TEAM IS...his contract needs to be restructured and if it is not for the good of the team, then we need to trade him and hopefully pick up a 1st or a 2nd...

Remember we could use our #1 pick next year and pay him less than 1/2 what long will be worth and pick up a few quality FAs with the save cap space...

You can't just look at the cap number of Long this year vs Brady b/c you have to look at how the contract is structured...bonus, years, etc. Brady's base salary this year is $950k....that's absurd. But it's b/c a lot of his money is in bonus....much still deferred with this $21+M of dead money. Long on the other hand has a base salary of $11.2M and only $5.5M of potential dead money out there. Do i still think it's an awful lot of money? Yes. But when he is on top of his game and playing like the best LT in football, that's what they get paid.

As of right now, Welker has been franchised for this season. So he is making top WR $$......and he should be.

Thats where the dead money comes from, you pay later to take off years, in the long run it works better for the franchise.

There's a difference between that's what they get paid and that's what they're worth. I know he's not THAT valuable to the team. If he's not willing to come down in price, draft a RT; move Martin back over to LT; Franchise Long, and look to trade him, or let him play for the year and then let him walk.
