Lake Mary....I think
I'm not saying that it will happen, but to those who were inquiring, this is what it would look like:

AJ signed a 5 year, 19 mil contract with 3 mil bonus

thats a 600,000 cap charge every year, even if he's not here.

Therefore, if we cut him now, we would only lose 600,000 in cap room this year (we get his salary of 540,000 back, but lose 600,000 in bonus)

then, next year, he would only count as 1.8 mil in dead cap. (600,000 times 3 years remaining on contract)

1.8 mil in 2006 is nothing, especially considering that teams like Tampa are carrying close to 5 mil in dead money for Brad Johnson....

I'd cut him, I see no future for him.

If we don't cut him now and we wait until say next year, can anyone tell me how he counts against the cap next year because I thought this was his "low" year as far as his salary goes?

Give him a chance! He needs to develop like all qbs'.

He has to be best friends w/ Spielman. He owes him a few steak dinners and a cruise around the world. RS was Feeley's winning lotto ticket. I mean $18 mill. For a 3rd stringer. I bet Detmer is wanting to move down on the depth chart. What is Vollek getting. Minimum! Big difference.

in 2006 his salary jumps up to 3.5 million

if we cut him before FA starts in March, or anytime before June 1st for that matter, we'd SAVE 1.7 mil on the cap (3.5 salary - 1.8 bonus)

We just signed Gus though ^.

All the more reason to cut him now, I don't expect Miami to make a Superbowl run this year, but next year with the improvements Saban seems to have made thus far, I could see it. We don't need Feeley being gimp, taking up space.

With a salary that high for next year he will be cut regardless.
