Many people are complaining that we didn't use the franchise tag on Carey or Bell. The reason given is that considering the signings and franchise tags made by other teams, they seem to be the best tackle and safety available. I think however, that the question should be, are they among the top 5 in the league at their positions?

The FO clearly doesn't think so, and I agree. What do you think?

Strong Safety - Polomalau, Gibril Wilson, and Chris Hope are in front of him. Bell is top 5 at Strong Safety position in the league.

bell is good, hes just not a ball hawk no interceptions.. he had how many balls touch his hands this season?? if he learned to catch he'd be up there with polamalu 1 and 2 wed be arguing to see who was the best

I'm sorry.... I love Bell.... in fact he is one of my favorite players on the team, but he doesn't even belong in the same sentence as Troy Polomalau.

Sorry to sound condescending here, but do you even watch Steelers games? Or are you just going by the media? I lived in Pittsburgh the past couple years and saw 12-14 Steelers games each year. Polamalau is excellent, but Bell is not that far behind. If Bell could actually catch, him and Polomalu would be in the same sentence. He could have had 4-5 picks this year with all those balls he swatted.

IF he could actually catch. If is a big word.

IF..... so basically you agree.
