Some have speculated ex-Chiefs president Carl Peterson -- Dolphins owner Stephen Ross' friend -- could replace Bill Parcells when Parcells leaves. But Peterson, chairman of USA Football, said he has no interest in taking a football-oriented NFL job again. He said he's working for Ross on non-NFL projects.

Let's hope this holds true, because when Parcells does leave a guy like Peterson could scrap Ireland and Sparano and start over with "his" guys.

I know a couple Chiefs fans who don't miss this guy very much.

As someone who grew up in the KC market, I can say this is a good thing!

While I don't want this to happen I do think it will at some point, but remember that Jeff Ireland may very well be a Carl Peterson guy. He has ties to Peterson as his first NFL job was with the Chiefs as a scout.

I don't think Parcells even needs a replacement. He is grooming Ireland to take over, when Parcells leaves hand over the decision making to our GM, Jeff Ireland.

I hope that he keeps feeling this way forever, but

when he talks about 'plans', what he is talking about is the foreseeable future. Two to three years from now, he will probably have completely different plans.

He is an enormous SOB. They don't call him 'King' Carl up there because he was such a great guy.

He has history with Ireland though. They worked together at some point. I think they are friends.
