Carl Peterson

Carl stepping in might actually right the ship.. dude bleeds football.. most of those KC pro bowlers were his picks

We are having a good day...don't mess it up with Peterson crap!!!

I think that is a good point is that "someone" was going to take Jeff's power. The question is who?

Mangini?

Would have been a better story if Ross just straight up fired him

Typical FIRELAND person. Happy with anything but. King Carl also brought Herm Edwards to KC. I could go on, but that should be enough to make my point.

Not "the Gina"

I would love Mangini

I would give Pioli a chance

Gaine interests me

Tannebaum…I would become unglued.

as calculated as this move of relieving ireland of his power seems to have been - certainly doesn't seem to have been "off the cuff" - makes me believe that Ross has his czar candidate lined up and ready for hire?

hopefully it won't take too long to know....

I don't want any of the guys you mentioned. If I put them In order from best to worst IMO, it'd be Pioli, Gaine, Gina, tannebaum

Herm was a good coach, the talent was running out by the time he got there and they were rebuilding though he did lead them to a postseason. Peterson's problem was KC won 3 playoff games in his entire time there.

yeah well... least I have the balls to comment not using a pseudonym

I guess 99% of this board lack the 'balls' to comment as you have. But it doesn't excuse your ignorance.

Leave it to a Jet fan to come in and excuse Edwards lack of winning. KC fans won't do the same. Sports radio at the time here in KS was not as forgiving.

As for Peterson, he wore out his welcome in KC. He had unabashed power, and always came up short. The hiring of Edwards was about the last straw with that fan base.

Herm did an excellent job for us, brought KC to the playoffs for only the 2nd time in 9 years then Peterson stripped all the talent to rebuild.

In 48 games as HC in the reg season, the QB starts look like this:

Damon Huard 21
Tyler Thigpen 11
Brodie Croyle 8
Trent Green 8

Vince Lombardi wouldn't have won either
