I know there has been quite a few threads about getting David Carr. Well, I just wanted to tell you about what a radio dj in south florida said. First of all he said he got his info from a "very reliable source" of the Phins. He said the Phins are going to trade our 1st round pick and Ricky Williams to the Texans for David Carr and some late round pick(s) or cash. He never specified about the late round picks or the cash. I know how some of these "reliable sources" end up but just wanted hear what you guys think about this possibility? I, for one, am not too excited about this trade. But, that may be because I never get to see Carr play much. If this rumor has been posted already, I appologize.

Gee, I thought R.Spielman was fired!!!!!

i would trade ricky and our 2nd or 3rd... not ricky and the first though...

but if we had carr on our team id be in heaven

I'd be all for it. BUT, the Texans said yesterday, they would pay Carr his 8 million dollar bonus. Doesn't this mean they are keeping him? Or, maybe they are paying 8 million dollars to trade him?

I don't think they'd spend 8 mil to trade him for a guy that's one toke away from a year suspension and go down 15 picks in the draft.

I'd love it if they would though!

They wouldn't go down 15 picks. They would gain a second first rounder as well as a franchise back. Bogus rumor. No way does Saban trade away a first round pick and one half of a great duo in the backfield for a QB who hasn't yet proved his worth in this league.

Haha, exactly. Enough of these foolish trades already, it's old!

From the 1st post they wouldn't be going down 15 picks, they would be keeping their first, giving us Carr and some late round picks and getting Ricky and OUR 1st round pick.

So this asinine deal would look like this. Dolphins :buttkick: Texans as they would get 2 first round picks, we would have none, we would get Carr who probably has more mental baggage from the pounding he has taken, they would get a prime time runner and we would get some lousy late round picks.

Now if we are able to send Ricky and our second and a 5th for Carr and their second and their 6th then maybe I would do it.

But unless they were looking to drop from the #1 spot to get more picks why would they do that? They have D. Davis who is a decent RB, they have a chance to get the next BIG THING in Bush, and they bloody need an O line.

lets see..... carr or keep ricky and our #16 (cutler) uhhh no thanks, car can stay in houston for that price! i would do it straight up for a 2nd and ricky though.

I'm sure it's just another rumor BUT I would do this in a heart beat. Give up our #1 pick for a franchise QB. No brainer. Carr is legit. Ricky is good but we have Brown and need a QB. I'd say that would be a good deal. We need a QB big time. There is no way that a deal like this has already been discussed between these teams though. Like the Texans don't have a few other concerns right now - how about a coach first.

Ahh, the beauty of the offseason.

Let the rumors begin. We should keep track of all of them from now until September and then vote on which one was the stupidest at the beginning of the season.

I'd have to agree with what's been said. A second or a third and Ricky would make more sense. I don't think Saban is going to just give up our first for a quarterback and on top of that get rid of a franchise back. Things are finally coming together and Ricky and Ronnie are a big part of that. There isn't really a reason to get rid of Ricky.

no way Ricky for Carr is a sweet deal for the Texans but a 1st rounder man that is just ludacris we need that 1st to get younger on D-fence

I would trade RW and a 2nd. I would also consider a 1st for Carr(no RW).
