I have seen several articles recently that mention us as a trade partner with Houston for David Carr and I can only wonder......WHY???? Haven't we learned yet that you can't take a QB that has been ruined by one team and rehab him? Does Joey Harrington strike a chord?? There is an old saying,"If you keep doing what you've been doing, you'll keep getting what you've been getting". I, for one, think it's past time for us to draft and groom our own QB in our own system. Then, if he fails to produce we'll know we either made a bad choice or a mistake in his training. Does anyone else agree?

I think Carr is a lot better than Harrington, but i wouldn´t surrender a draft pick for him! Or maybe a conditional 08 pick (5th or 6 th round). I would trade him for Mare, but that is highly unrealistic!

Carr and Harrington share the same commonalities as Akili Smith, AJ Feeley, and Co. They're all Tedford QB's. If Houston doesn't want him, I don't see why we would. I'd rather they keep Carr and we get Quinn but it doesn't look likely.

I'd like to see you post a link to some of these stories, because I've never seen anything around about Carr coming here this season.

"Houston quarterback David Carr could go Miami, Oakland, or Cleveland. The Texans would like a first-day draft pick for the player selected with the first overall pick in the 2002 draft.-- Trenton Times"

I said for him to post a link.

Thanks.

Edit: His player page doesn't mention us at all, and nothing says we ever contacted them. It's all media speculation based on your first quote.

Edit: His player page doesn't mention us at all said:
Bottom of the player page:

"According to the story, the Texans would only take a small cap hit for trading Carr, and the mere fact that the GM is mentioning it publicly suggests that he's open to moving his quarterback and may want to even start a bidding war. The paper listed Minnesota, Oakland, Miami, Cleveland, Kansas City, Jacksonville, Chicago and Carolina as possible landing spots for a veteran quarterback this offseason. Stay tuned -- if Carr lands with a team that has a good O-line and capable receivers, he could shoot up the Fantasy draft boards in 2007.
(Updated 02/14/2007)."

Thanks for pointing that out, I only saw the news.

And of course we might be looking for a veteran QB, doesn't mean we have any interest in Carr though. As I said, it's all pure speculation on the media's part.

lauderdale, thanks for the assist, bro. I just got back on and saw Stitches query and your posts. Next time I promise to put more info and any links I can find in the message,OK? That was my first attempt and I'm not the most computer literate guy on the site so please bear with me.

It's fine you didn't have a link, I just wanted one because I had never heard anything about Miami being interested in Carr.
You're fine man.

I would look at him only if he is released, no more picks for other peoples Quaterbacks (I supported the Culepepper trade but Joey was the last straw).

Carr would be a boon for a third let's just say that. I've posted this twice but I'll do it again.

The number of QBs who have been picked in third round the last eight years who are equivalent or better than Carr.

- Matt Schaub
- Brian Griese at one point

So your chances are 1/6th...

Makes Carr a little more capable don't you think?

I like Carr more then the other option (Green). He is young and talent and a great back up.

If we didn't trade for Culpepper last year I would have no problem with this move. Because of Culpepper I don't know if we should make this trade. To give up a day one draft pick for Carr would have to mean we plan on starting him at some point, which means Culpepper will be gone soon, and I'm not ready to give up on him. The guy was recovering from a major knee surgery and we rushed him onto the field last year. Hopefully he comes back next year and does a good job. So unless we plan on getting rid of Culpepper I don't see us trading a day one draft pick for Carr, IMO. Then again, I'm not the GM of the Dolphins, I'm just a fan.
