I have seen a few articles recently that have us a potential trade partner with Houston for David Carr and can only think.... WHY?? Haven't we learned you can't take a QB that was ruined by another organization and rehab him to be productive in ours? Does Joey Harrington strike a chord? There's an old saying," if you keep doing what you've always done, you'll keep getting what you've always got". For once, let's do this right. Let's draft and groom a QB in our system, by our coaches and see what happens. If it doesn't work, then we need to make a better choice or do a better job of training. Why keep wasting draft picks and money on other teams failed experiments? Does anyone else agree?

Well David Carr isn't fully to blame for his failures. The Houston organization has been pretty bad because they are the expansion franchise.

I agree to a degree.

I would not have a problem going into camp with Daunte Culpepper, Trent Green, David Carr, Cleo Lemon, and Brady Quinn/Drew Stanton.

Why? Because the more lottery tickets you have the greater the odds of holding the winner. Not to mention that our QB woes are drastic so we may need drastic measures.

Plus, Mueller likes to load up at positions. He has a history of doing so and I agree with the philosophy. You never know when you'll be able to trade a guy for 2 first round picks and completely save a dying franchise.

Miami, I never thought of that, makes tons of sense that way! I guess it's really good to get another slant on things once in a while, helps clear out the neural trnsmitters to see another perspective. Thanks.

Thank you. It's just a shot in the dark though. I'm just as clueless as most are around here.

What I do know is that without a QB we will never be a contender so I don't mind over-dedicating cap space, roster space, or draft picks to the most important position in football.

The guy is only 27-years old and has played on awful Texans teams.

I'd be pretty satisfied with a Culpepper/Carr open battle.

QB's are most effected by the organization than any other position.

Every highly touted QB deserves a second chance, IMO.

At the right price & a brand new contract, I'd go after Carr.

I would love having Carr here. Through the years with the horrible Texans teams he still had flashes of brilliance. He's a lot younger than Trent Green, however Trent Green is very proven of the past few years. I guess it all comes down to the question of are the Dolphins going to target a QB early in the draft. A Quinn/Stanton type.

IMHO, I don't really care who they draft at this point. All I know is that our drafting philosophy when it comes to QB's has to change.

I would rather have Carr than Green, but only at the right price. There's no telling how good he would be if he hadn't played for the Texans all these years. One thing's for sure he does have a great attitude for not blowing up in frustration and demanding trades after all the dissapointing seasons. I honestly think CPep will rebound nicely though this year in Cam's system and with another year of rehab. Hopefully Quinn will drop to us in the draft and we'll be able to groom him for the future.

I really hope we don't pick up Green though because he's on the downside of his career and he'd only be good for a season or two if we did pick him up and he actually started for us.

I personally love Muellers approach to the quarterback position.

Regarding Carr, I would only make the deal if it was a bargain, Expansion team or not, Carr just hasn't shown enough for me, obviously Houston has seen about enough.

Carr has looked pretty darn good against our defense every time he has played against them. He has the worst O-line in the NFL. He has very good arm, is accurate and has mobility.
I would take him for a 3rd rd pick because I think he is better than Trent Edwards, Kolb etc.
Kubiak is a dunce if he actually thought for one minute that Plummer would be an upgrade. Put Plummer behind that O-line and see what kind of success he has.

Perhaps the problem is Houston and not Carr. The fact that they signed an aging Ahman Green shows how stupid they are as a franchise. They have made one boneheaded decsion after another over the years.
