I have already seen Saban haters on this board flip flop and say that Carroll is acting different because he cant say he is interested in the job because of recruits and blah blah blah. Thats a load of bull in my opinion. If Carroll wants the Phins job, he needs to part ways with USC in respectable fashion.

Dont deny anything, dont promise to stay..none of that.

Its hard to do because there are recruits that he has to think about if he ends up staying at USC, but he needs to play his cards right. So far, I think hes done a good job of being low key despite his obvious interest in the Dolphins job. He and Wayne wouldnt have taken the time to meet in Costa Rica and all that just to chat as they claim. Carroll also said he "didnt know where it sat, and he wasnt anticipating anything" when asked if he was interested. Not denying interest but at the same time mentioning that he hadnt been offered the job and he was just an observer. Good move, I hope this guy leaves with class if he is to come to the Phins, because we would look like big hypocrites if we made him pull a Nick Saban.

I'll take a firm pass on Pete Carroll. His NFL record blows and there's just something about him, I don't trust him or like him. He's with USC 1000%, yeah right.

ESPN John Clayton just mentioned, but please don't quote me on it. That their is a chance by this weekend if Wayne opens up the Wallet, that Carrol might consider the job.

Pete Carroll's NFL career is a living example of why the "GM with final say in personnel matters" approach utterly fails if your GM is an idiot.

I like Carroll. He is very intelligent, and has the ability to pick great players.

We loved Saban, yet Carroll has had more success in college and wont be coming in inexperienced. We hailed Saban the savior a couple of years ago, we can at least give this guy a chance.

How can we say NO! to Carroll and be talking about Brian Schottenheimer or Chan Gailey. Dom Capers even. It makes no sense.

I originally did not like the idea of Carroll, but the more I think about it, the more it seems like a good fit. His personality represents a nice change from Saban that may breathe some life into the players, as guys seem to like playing for this guy. And certainly, he is the epitome of a coach that would be happy to live the Miami lifestyle, again a big change from Saban. His previous coaching record is not great, but he coached an AFC East team to the playoffs twice before heading to USC.
Florida Gators National Champs!

Carroll wouldnt be a bad choice, but given how much enthusiasm he has for the college game, I'd be kinda worried that he'd pull a Saban after one or two less than stellar years.

The one thing you won't have to worry about is Pete Carroll pulling a Saban. You can just see by his character that the guy has class!

First of all Carroll hasnt said he isnt interested in the Dolphins. He actually said that if Wayne calls back he will listen. Unlike Sababn who said he was not going to coach Alabama.
