Carter Tells Wanny To Keep Him On The Roster....

You guys must not be watching the games. Because Rob Konrad has done a GREAT job of blocking this season. No, he doesn't crush people. But he's ALWAYS in position and does a very good job with his man. He's doing his job.

I gotta agree with my boy Oliver on this subject. Deon Dyer HAS NOT shown himself to be a better blocker than Konrad. I have not seen this devestating blocking that he's known for in the last two years. He IS NOT superior to Konrad in this respect. Nor is in proper position as often as Konrad. And we won't even get into who's the better athlete and receiver.

Yeah, he may have the look and the attitude. But that's about it. He's not half the player that Konrad is.

Muck he hasnt really been given a shot this year, I would never trade dyer for Konrad, but I would love to see what he can do in the Kick Retuns as a lead blocker

IMO Konrad is the better FB because he has shown pass catching abilities and speed. Dyer is, and will be a very good FB, but with another team with a system that fits him better.
Like the Titans for instance, George needs a blocking FB in that offense, that was obvious after they let O'Neal (or is it just Neal?) go to Cincy. Georges #s dropped.

Konrad gets into position and shields his man.. by being in between him and the ball carrier... this is effective... but Dyer will hit the guy, knock him down, and start looking for the next guy... usually taking out at least 2 people every time.. Konrad is superior in every other category, but as far as lead blocker... it goes to dyer hands down..

I just gotta disagree GHFB. Dyer doesn't knock anyone down. And that's the thing. If nothing else, he's supposed to be a big blocker (like he was in college). He's supposed to knock people down and blow up his opponents. And it just hasn't happened. Not in the last two years. This has been the case even in camps and preseason. He doesn't blow people up and he blocks the wrong man too often. This is the main reason why I feel Konrad is a better blocker. He always engages the right man and eliminates him from the play.

Like Oliver says, Dyer's just not the guy his college reputation makes him out to be. Not anymore.

He doesn't fit in our system either. He is a good blocked but he can go, it won't affect this team at all.

Dyer misses the block more often than he blows somebody up. At the beginning of the season, they were bringing Dyer in on short yardage and goalline situations, but he screwed up alot. If you look back at one Ricky's early TDs, I think it was his first one, Dyer was in and blocked the wrong guy. Ricky scored, but it was completely on his own.

I've also heard that Dyer misses his blocks too much from being overly aggressive.
