Cashman returning, Bowa new third base coach!

Whoopdi do. I can put together a fantasy line-up much better than Cashman has.

That's so if Torre gets fired, they can promote Boa.

;)

It is kind of interesting that they would bring him in. I dont think Torres wanted him there. Would be interesting to know how Torres really felt about it, hes too classy to say anything in public.
Give me a blank check, Ill sign players and work for 10% of what cashman is making.

It'll be interesting with Bowa at 3rd, that's for sure.

Can't be worse than Sojo

Toree and Cashman are on the same page. They get along.

They both hate the people in Tampa calling the shots

Or Dale Sveum

Does Bowa have any experience as a 3rd base coach?

I meant that it will be interesting due to his personality. He's a hyper, yell type of guy compared to the rest of the coaching staff. IF Torre gets fired Lou Pinella is going to be the guy to replace him not Bowa. Kind of interesting that Louie is sitting out (maybe he had a talk with Georgie)

Bowa has a ton of experience as third base coach. He was third base coach with the Phillies for years. If Torre is fired after next year if the Yankees flop, Bowa isn't getting the job. Not sure who will but it will either be Pinella (a no-brainer) or a guy no one expected (ie. Torre when he was hired). As far as Torre feeling mad the Yanks hired Bowa, I doubt that, Torre made more calls then anyone else in the Yankees organization to get Bowa to come. It's obvious Joe wants people with experience on his staff. The last couple of years we've had Mattingly, Girardi, Sojo, and White, all coaches who's first job was with the Yankees!

I figured he had experience at 3rd, I just wasn't sure when and with who.

Bowa was a third-base coach for the Phillies (1988-96), the Angels (1997-99) and Seattle (2000). He left the Phillies when Francona took over. Maybe he wants some sort of revenge!

Oh wow he has a lot of experience. Do any Angel or Phillie fans want to comment on him as a 3rd base coach? He obviously couldn't have been bad if he's been one for a long time with different teams. And there's no way he can be worse than Sveum (thank god he's in Milwaukee now).

These are excellent moves as long as Cash really got more controla nd can keep the Tampa folks out of his business. Runor had it he was working hard to get Stick more say over the Tampa fools so hopefully that happened. As for 3B, I love Luis but he was horrid and cost us at least a handful of games so i love the Bowa move.
