i really think we need to get a new saftey or corner back or somethin because wat if 1 of our startindg DB's went down...we would have no starting caliber db to take his place...i mean i think our secondary can b decent if our starters stay healthy but thats not always a sure bet so i say whatever decent db is left (if there is any) we should pick him up ...because he'll give us depth and a decent backup who can come in if 1 of our starters gets hurt......wat do u guys think?

is Lance Schulters still available?

we've got 4 starting caliber safeties on this team. two of which can play corner if needed (Hill and J. Allen)

Also, shulters didn't like miami. And hes slow as sin, we don't need that.

I imagine Saban will be scanning the waiver wire if he feels we need more depth. There should be some decent corners cut by opening day.

We have a lot of players in the secondary that have started in this league. Depth is not an issue unless players keep getting hurt.

I am concerned with all the injuries in our secondary as well, but thankfully (knock on wood!!!!!), all the injuries seem to be minor, with the exception of the Will Poole's. Let's hope all our guys can heal up and start to gel soon.

I have to say one guy who has surprised me has been Eddie Jackson. I bet he makes the team this year.

Saban has already stated that he looks at the waiver wire practically everyday. If he sees someone he likes, he'll take him.

Its not very often that you get quality when your picking up another teams castoffs or rejects. It could happen, but not very often. Its not as if you can scan the wires, pick out a name and say, "Now theres a starting quality CB or safety, lets pick him up!" Of course they say "One mans junk is another man's treasure".

Sometimes decent players get cut because another team has incredible depth at a certain position. Other times he might be good but doesn't fit their defensive system. You aren't going to get a pro bowl player on the waiver wires, but you can sometimes get decent athletes which could provide the depth we need to overcome this rash of injuries. On the other hand, as was already pointed out, most of our injuries seem to be mild, so we may not really need more depth.

Remember guys, Eddie Jackson is a waiver wire acquisition from last year, and he paid dividends.

Depth is percisely what Saban did add in the offseason: W. Allen, J. Allen, Goodman, Hill, Cooper, Lehan to go along with Bell, Tillman, Daniels, Jackson and Poole.

True some of the db's are a little nicked up right now, but outside of Poole none are long-term (as far as I know). Assuming there was a quality db (doubtful) to pick up who do you suggest the Dolphins release?

We have a Secondary specialist as a Head Coach. We have Bell Cooper and Tillman that all have starting time as safeties. Daniels, Goodman, and Allen all have starts under their belts. Lehan and Jackson will play their part if they make the squad. And Jason Allen and Renaldo Hill could both be used as corners or safeties. That's ten DBs. Can someone with some common sense tell me how many DBs we would possibly use during a game? With all this experience and good coaching someone is bound to step up if injuries occur, especially once everyone has time to learn the system. Put that together with a defensive line that will be 9 to 10 players deep bringing it every down. There is nothing to worry about.

If we struggle this year it will be purely a coaching problem not a player’s problem. But I have faith in our team and coaching staff. This is my first post. I feel that there are way too many ignorant people making negative comments because they don't understand the game. Find one team with the amount of depth we have at the defensive line (which is responsible for pressuring the QB) coupled with more than 8 DBs having starting experience or the physical skills of Jason Allen and I'll show you a playoff caliber team. Once again don't underestimate what we have and our coaching staff. Remember, the Patriots won three Super bowls with less talent and experience than we have using a WR part time as a DB. The system is what counts time will tell.

I agree... Its hard to get excited about the waver wire.

Yeremiah Bell will be fine if he has to step in and play safety for a while. He played outstanding coverage last year when T.Jones got hurt.

Anyone interested in Brian Kelly? He's kinda pissed about Ronde Barber getting a contract and he didn't so he's pulling the 'out for personal reasons' card. He's a great corner, but the Bucs aren't giving him a raise.

Anybody here want to see him in Maimi?
