CB Michael Lehan released from IR

so he's not on our team anymore?
i thought you had to wait till end of season to cut people on IR...
he's gonna file an injury greivance and get paid...

i told you guys, he really is overrated on these boards and EVEN on madden. hes 80 ovarall on madden as opposed to JA at 73 and goodman at 76.

the guy couldnt stop DANIELS last year a TE u expect him to stop a WR? loll c'mon now, he relaly blows. hes physical but he blows

I think this means they're going to re-sign Goodman. I expect us to have similar depth at CB next season except for a rookie in place of Joey Thomas. Goodman, Allen, Allen, Draftee, and Thomas is what it looks like it's gonna be next year. But yea, a bit of a surprise they did it so late.

I always wondered why they even bothered to re-sign Lehan? I mean, the guy wasn't that great to begin with. Are secondary is probably going to be the following: W. Allen, J. Allen, Andre Goodman, and two draft picks.

Thats whats I wondered myself.

I think it will be 1 rookie draft pick in the top 3 rounds, 1 in the 7th and one FA like a mcfadden or robinson.

Id love to get mcfadden or robinson

Well, when you put a player on IR, you MUST pay the rest of his 2008 salary.

I'm sure they will pay out the rest of his salary, per NFL rules.
No greivance will be necessary.

Where you see greivances filed is where a player is injured (but not on IR) and cut while still injured. They can file a greivance to be paid while they're rehabing. A cut player is NOT paid the rest of his 2008 salary (unless it was guaranteed of course), but any player put on IR is AUTOMATICALLY paid the rest of the salary per NFL rules.

Goodman will probg et resigned as he is better then lehan especially if he becomes a number 3 guy which he should.

I see it as WA, FA pick up (Mcfad fits the mold as will Robinson although a bit small), Goodman, JA, and 2 rookies, 1 in the top 3 and 1 in round 7 project.

short memories. Lehan really playing well and physical last year. something we seriously lack this year. he didnt play up to his contract this year however, before he got hurt.

Goodman I'm a little questionable about. He'll be 30 next year, and when there's guys out there on the market that are younger (Robinson, McFadden, Hayden) and the potential of guys that know Bowles' system (Henry) and a fair amount of prospects in rounds 2 and 3, I think we can take our chances on not bringing Goodman back.

It would have to be at a very "convenient" price.

It's possible that they he might be ready to play and want to resign him now?

Nah, there's a time where you can't sign players after you release them from IR, otherwise all teams would just store them there until they're healthy, then cut them and re-sign them. He can sign with the 31 other teams right now, but not Miami again for some weeks (I feel like it's 3 or 6).

i agree however goodman going up against a number 3 or 4 WR is far better hten a numbre 2.

The fa u are talking about are going to come in to be a number 1 or 2 guy and to push goodman back down the depth chart not the other way.
